FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For single hour events I charge $150 and $100/hour for 2+ hours. I can easily bring face paint, henna & glitter tattoos to the same event, provided I have enough notice. If you need a second artist I can sometimes accommodate, this is best if you want caricatures as well as any other services as it is difficult to do these simultaneously. You can have 2 caricature artists or 1 caricaturist & 1 body artist. It would then be only $90/artist/hour for 2 artists. There is a travel fee if you are 25+ miles away and your event is shorter than is 3 hours. There is no travel fee if your event is closer than 25 miles and/or 3+ hours.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started my career at a theme park when I was 15 where I was originally trained in Caricatures and Face Painting. In such a busy environment you are taught to value speed and quality at the same time, while putting customer service first. I also apprenticed under another artist to learn henna and henna style glitter tattoos.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was recruited in my high school art class by the local theme park. They saw I had potential and gave me a caricature "boot camp" training to see if I could do it professionally, and then I was hired. I went on to supervise for them, and learned how to do face paint, henna, and glitter tattoos as well. Once I moved to the Bay Area I knew it was time to leave the nest and start a business of my own.
