FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin the process with an evaluation of the dog and dialogue with the owner to develop a proper approach. Once that is established, I form a unique syllabus for the dog that will educate the owner on what will take place during training. Finally, we begin to train!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 12 years of experience and training dealing with pets to law enforcement canines. I studied under a master trainer as a child throughout my adolescence, developing advanced obedience skills, protection decoy skills, and behavior modification skills. Once I became an adult I entered a master dog training program at a Canine Institute in St. Louis, MO. I sharpened my skills and learned new ones like canine packing, narcotic detection, and tracking.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always loved dog's and had a passion for dog training. As a child I met a man in my community who bred, trained, and sold protection canines to the public and to law enforcement. I would go to his house everyday after school, helping out with whatever I could. One day I asked to put on a bite sleeve to feel the dogs bite. He was reluctant at first because of my young age, but eventually gave in. I was hooked instantly! The control and determination of the dog is what excited me. I knew from then on I wanted to become a trainer, and I wanted to be the best.
