FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Project fees, whether base or hourly, vary on an individual basis. For instance, SoLegal may charge a price to assist in drafting a Divorce, however, if someone needs assistance in "fixing" a previously rejected divorce filing, SoLegal would take that into consideration and quote a lesser fee, as a courtesy to our clilents. Travel fees start at $45.00 and Rush fees start at $50.00.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As paralegals, we are required to take Continued Legal Education (CLE) courses every 2 years, which consist of 4 hours in legal ethics and 4 hours in either general law or in an area of specialized law. Further, we belong to the Orange County Paralegal Association (OCPA). As notaries, we get licensed every 4 years. Additionally, we are part of the National Notary Association (NNA) wherein we receive e-mail updates and monthly newsletters/magazines keeping us up to date with Notary laws or changes.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The jobs/projects which SoLegal completes, or gets hired to complete, varies. They entail projects ranging from propounding discovery, responding to discovery, drafting legal documents such as wills, power of attorneys, health care directives, trusts, travel documents and quitclaim or grant deeds; filling out legal documents including judicial council forms and immigration forms, preparing for trial and performing notarizations.
