- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master's of Science, and an MBA. I have worked as a writing tutor at a community college, and I was a math tutor for the athletic department at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) when I was in graduate school.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After turning in a research paper in college, the instructor was so impressed with my writing that she asked me if I would be available to tutor writing. That was the first time I tutored for pay. I first started tutoring math when I was in graduate school. Now, I do math tutoring because its a very helpful service to people. They are thankful for the help.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with the following customers: - a 9-year old elementary school student - middle school pre-algebra students - high school algebra I, algebra II, and geometry students - STAAR exam prep - college algebra and pre-calculus students - adult students returning to college and preparing for a placement exam - high school students preparing for the SAT and ACT - post graduate student studying for the GRE
