FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No. It has been my experience that "one size fits all" works only for certain clothing, and has no place in a custom workmanship environment.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I call the customer and set up a date and time to visually estimate the work to be performed, and the materials needed. I inquire about the time frame needed by the client, if any. I determine if it will be a larger job, or a smaller one, and explain my contracts and billing, as well as discuss delivery of materials if needed. Based on all of the previous information gained, I give a best estimate of the Materials cost, labor cost, start and finish dates, and if requested, provide a written estimate of all of this information. Smaller jobs would require all of the above except a written estimate, if the client requests a verbal agreement only. NOTE! MOST OF THE TIME I GIVE THE ACTUAL COSTS ESTIMATE ONE TO THREE DAYS AFTER THE INITIAL APPOINTMENT. MATERIALS LISTS CAN BE VERY LONG AND DETAILED AND WILL NOT BE "GUESTIMATED" ON THE SPOT!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My uncle is a master Building Contractor with 50+ years of experience. I was taught on the job by my uncle for many years. I learned by doing the work day in, and day out.
