I had the absolute pleasure of having Bill as my trainer at BodyPlex in Buford Georgia just north of Atlanta. He was my weekly trainer for about a year and he was chosen for me in the beginning when I joined the club. His personality and demeanor were very polite but at the same time he could be assertive enough for me to get every task done that he had scheduled for me that particular day of training. I've always had a tendency to want to give up about three quarters of the way through but he had away about him that made me want to complete the task. I also enjoyed learning something different at every training session. I don't think he ever had me do the same thing twice. Bill was the first trainer I had that I actually look forward to going to my training sessions. I enjoyed them even more when I started to see the results . Bill was also very knowledgable of health and nutrition. I know a lot of people miss Bill, including myself, and I'm sure that he will be liked by many with his future clients!!

Bill Dunbar was my personal trainer at BodyPlex in Buford, GA. At my introductory session, we went over what my current health issues and concerns were, what I hoped to get out of my time at the gym, his role as my trainer, information about how your muscles respond to workouts and proper nutrition; not only to prepare for and refuel after workouts, but also making healthy food choices on a daily basis. Then we used a few basic weight stations just to gauge where I was strength-wise. He certainly had his work cut out for him-I had no strength or balance, couldn't do squats without tipping over (yes, we all still laugh about that), could not jog on a treadmill or do sit-ups. Bill is phenomenal. While we started out with a lengthy list of health issues to work around, he never once discounted them. Rather he did everything he could to accommodate them and still have a productive workout. He knew when to push me and when to find something more basic to do in order to teach me a skill (like squatting and jogging), he encouraged me and helped me to believe in my abilities instead of caving in to challenges. When my weekly weigh-in was not where I wanted it to be, Bill helped me to determine what I had done differently the past few days and gave me suggestions on how to stay on track. Although it was still up to me to make healthy choices, it was much easier knowing I would have to account to someone who had my best interests in mind. In the 3 months that Bill was my trainer, I lost 25 pounds and was able to decrease the amount of medication I was taking. I feel better, stronger and more confident than I have in years and I fit into clothes I never thought I would be able to wear again. AND I can now squat 85 pounds! I consider Bill my friend, mentor and cheerleader.

I worked with Bill for approximately two years. Throughout those years he always listened to my goals, adapted my workout to achieve those goals, and always remained very encouraging. When I would approach him with a new goal or obstacle he would change my workout to reflect and achieve these changes. I felt that some of my goals were not that of his average client and when I saw him working with others he wasn't always doing the same routines as he did with me. This proved to me that he was versatile in his training and teaching. He was also personable when working out. It was never just "jumping straight into a workout" but also asking hows my week been, have I been keeping up with working out through the week, or eating right to maintain a healthy lifestyle that I wanted.

I trained with Bill Dunbar for nearly 3 years. Through his coaching and guidance I lost more than 100 pounds. He not only helped me gain physical strength but he helped me build confidence in myself. One thing I always appreciated was how he always knew where I was with my abilities and how he knew just how far he could push me. Before I knew what was happening I'd be lifting more weight, doing more reps, and lasting longer than I ever thought I could. It was through his encouragement that I signed up for and completed a 5K obstacle course. I highly recommend Bill as a trainer. His expertise and passion for his profession will take you far.
