FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Minimum of 20 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits annually, which is required by the state of Arizona.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was in Mental Health as a Case Manager, then graduated to being a therapist, and was told that I needed to go back to get a Master's degree. I did some research and found out my soon to be wife had a sister and brother in-law who were PA's back east. I had no idea when I finished PA school, which prepares you to be a generalist, that there would be a very small and slow moving opportunity for PA's in Mental Health/Psychiatry. I was very fortunate to be one of the first two PA's to be formally trained in a post-graduate residency in Psychiatry.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Psychiatric Evaluations; Assessments, treatment recommendations, initiation of medication when indicated, crisis management, therapy and psycho-education.
