Barbra and her team are doing a great job! After being ripped off by another contractor, Barbara stepped in and made me and my family feel very comfortable, she brought samples for us to look at and even gave her opinion when asked. We are having our garage redone, wood floors, new doors installed, painting, our bathroom remodeled, base boards and our pool rehabbed completely and so far we are very happy with their work!Oct 27, 2015VerifiedBarbara C.'s reply
Thank you Bryan and Alex. It has been fun doing all these projects and the end result, which is what I love, is looking awesome! You two have been great to work with and it makes me happy to see that my customers appreciate all the hard work I put in. Many people have no idea what I do to make things happen, so that in the end, my customer is thrilled with the out come. It is a challenge, but I love it. The beautiful transformation is what makes me tick. I want to wish you many healthy and happy years in your "new" home. Barbara
Barbara Cullinane is a liar and a thief. She accepted our $5,000 initial payment, didn't pay her highly-rated contractors who could only do partial work because she fired him (Mike) on the second day, Barbara got kicked off the job (within the first week) from the city because she didn't get the required permits, which she told us she would get, created fake receipts, and claimed that she needed to pay herself for the hassle she created. I would not recommend her and caution anyone who is using her services. She's a complete fake. Very disappointed in her character and business acumen.Oct 19, 2015VerifiedBarbara C.'s reply
As you can see from my other reviews I am neither a thief or a liar. There are two sides to this story. This project turned into a very problematic one. This project was in a condo and the first guy I brought in to do the work was not capable of doing the quality work that I require. I found this out by going to a job he was supposed to be doing and left that job and went to the condo. His work was sub par to say the least. So I went to the condo and fired him because of shoddy workmanship. It cost me a lot of money to have one of my other guys go in and rip everything out and start over. So now this man has cost me a lot of money. And then he has the nerve to try and charge me for some demo work at the condo. I refused to because he owes me money for the previous butcher job. So I bring another crew in and paid them up front to demo the condo. The disgruntled installer called the city and said we were in there without permits, which we were not because you don't need permits for demo. You do for the electrical and plumbing but we had not got that far yet. By this time, all the demo was done. I got a call from home because of a very tragic death in the family. I had rented a Budget truck to haul all debris in. I had to leave town and did not want the truck sitting there. So I had to pay my guys to take it to the dump, clean it, gas it and return it. I also had receipts from Budget. All installers were paid except for the guy who cost me money. And I too paid myself for weeks worth of work, gas and running around. They decided to not go forward with our services, and I can accept that. But surely I and everyone that did the work deserved to get paid. I took pics of all receipts and sent them so they were not fake by any stretch of the imagination. This is a very difficult business and you have to deal with many different individuals to rely on. This went bad and I am sorry for that. But as the other reviews have stated I am very honest, hard working, helpful and have great integrity. I try my very best to do what needs to be done and get the best end result. I am sorry to say in this instance things did not work out as I had hoped.

I had my floor and ceilings done through Turn to Stone and the final product was amazing. However, the reason I give such a low rating is the break down in communication while dealing with Barbara. She was a lot of help and great with ideas; however, when I told her about certain things I wanted done, she over looked the small details. The result was in me spending additional funds to have to do more work because she didn't contact me immediately when the problems arouse. Instead she contacted me after the work was done and it was not what I wanted. Sadly, this resulted in my being unsatisfied with her performance in dealing with a customer. I do believe her overlooking the small details maybe due to her trying to juggle many jobs at once, but I am not positive on that. Either way, I feel as a professional she could've made a better attempt at dealing with each customer accordingly since home renovations run in the thousands. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend her or their services if she already has many projects going on.Sep 8, 2015VerifiedBarbara C.'s reply
My name is Barbara and I own and operate Turn To Stone. His very first sentence says it all about my company. It was Amazing. And that should be my review but Frank mixed in the paint job that was not in my contract scope of work. Frank was a great client, unfortunately, I tried to be nice and help him out, which in the end was very costly to me. My contract was to do the ceilings, floors and baseboards. That's it..period. and as he said we did an Amazing job.Frank, also needed painters. Not in my contact. But Frank had to leave town while work was done so he asked me to oversee the painters. Well, that is where disaster struck. First of all, they were horrible painters and secondly they used the wrong paint on the ceilings. This happened while I was not there. I was not hired to babysit these people but I did go and check and saw what they had done. Long story short, I spent all day Saturday, all day Sunday, and Monday trying to straighten this mess out for Frank. I bought paint to re-do the ceilings and painted the ceilings myself...no charge. Painted all the baseboards...no charge...Painted all the door casings because they looked horrible not painted and he had not paid to have them painted...no charge. I do not know of any contractor that would cared or Done what I did to help Frank out. I deserve a 5 star rating on the work performed by company. I am saddened that he could not see that. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? No, unfortunately, every project is different in many different ways. We need to view it to get a proper proposal for the customer. Many customers get stuck by people throwing out numbers just to get the deal and then it turns bad half way through.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to meet with the customer personally if possible and get an idea of their taste and what they may envision for their project. I can then better throw out some ideas that they may not have thought of. Once we get a game plan together, I walk them through every step of the way. It is my job to run the jobs as efficiently as possible and keeping the quality and service at its best. In the end, we want the customer to be happy with the end result.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been in this industry for 18 years. I have handled many diverse projects as well as your standard kitchen, bath, flooring and room remodels. I love and thrive on what we do. Nothing but the best service will do for me.
