Introduction: Hello! I am an available light photographer (no flash, working with natural light sources), specializing in portraiture that feels natural and elegant. I have been a photographer for 20 years, and my style is journalistic in nature. If inquiring about a large event, such as a wedding, I ask that you consider me as a supplemental photographer. I prefer to catch quiet moments than take group shots of a wedding party. I love to photograph children, pets, end-of-life portraits (dogs and humans), birth photography (home or hospital), and bands or musicians. My rates reflect my lack of necessary equipment, and if you're in a budget, I would love to help!

Hillary took wonderful candid photos of my family, mostly our children, to document a special occasion (birthday). It is remarkable how much the photos capture the personality of our kids and with such depth. Her processing is subtle and effective, preserving details and maintaining a faithful and life-like depictions, while still producing artful images. As a bonus, she is really nice, very good with children--ours liked her quite a bit--and so was able to take A LOT of photos without being intrusive. I would not hesitate to ask her to document a special occasion in the future.

I don't have a flat fee, pricing will be dependent on your project; number of photographs needed, retouching requirements, and number of subjects.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'd like to meet at least once before the project to discuss your needs, but this can be done by email or phone if you have a busy schedule.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Many years experience, educational background in fine art photography as well as portraiture classes.
