Trish and Hope from Animal House cleaners showed up on time to prepare a bid and we're very pleasant and professional. They were able to meet my very tight deadline, and provided a fair price for their services. They came as scheduled and worked efficiently and with great attention to detail. They did a terrific job on my home, and I look forward to having them back!

I hired Troy to replace the caulking in the bathtub, replace the entry-door frame, buff out scratches from dogs around the entry way (inside and outside), repair the molding around the window in the entry way, replace a garage door opener, and fix the faucet and drain in the bathtub. He was very thorough to complete these projects with a guarantee that when the weather permits, he will finish the touch-up painting on the outside. Troy seems very knowledgeable and willing to meet budgeting needs for his customers.

Richard is absolutely amazing! He is honest, dependable and gets the job done. We have hired Richard to put in a paver patio in our backyard, but after spending time talking with him it has turned out he is able to help out with some on-going projects in our home! He has fixed a leaky pipe in our laundry room plus has put in a pipe drain where our egress window was installed and managed to do it the way it was suppose to be done in the first place! Finally we found someone who gets the job done right. At this point we are very happy with that we got matched up with Richard and continue to look forward to him doing what needs to be done. We thank you! I would recommend Richard to anyone who is looking for an all around general contractor. He let us know right off what he can and will not do! He talks you through what he will be doing without even having to ask! He is what a contractor should be like! Again Thank you with many more "THANK YOU'S to come Yolonda Adams & Deirdre Adams

A Touch of Class painted the interior of my house and did a fantastic job! I was told about them by a coworker who had the outside of her house painted by them. I saw her house and it looked great so I had them paint my living room white with an accent wall and also paint my half bath that had an ugly paint job. They were very fast and did a great job. They even rehung the pictures I took down and made sure they were straight and where I wanted them. They left the house cleaner than it was when they showed up. I would recommend A touch of class to Anyone needing a home painted.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

      • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
      • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
      • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.
