J. Cruz Xtreme Martial Arts

Introduction: We are a traditional Japanese karate school. Learn self-defense, exercise, and weapons. Our service include the following: * Beginners Class -- Monday and Wednesday, 6:30 to 8:30 * Advanced Class -- Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30 to 8:30; Saturday all classes, 9:30 - 11:00 These classes are for ages three and up. Please call for more info. Sensei Cruz, originally from Puerto Rico, grew up in Oxford, Alabama. For Sensei Cruz, martial arts has been a way of life. For what we have seen, no matter where we go or what we are doing, he always tries to spread World Yoshukai. Sensei Cruz was introduced to Yoshukai in the early 1990s by his friend, Shane Garrett. Sensei Cruz began training under Shihan Chuck Torruella in every aspect including competing to building their first demo team in Anniston. Sensei Cruz received his first degree in 2000 and soon after, received his instructor's certification. Sensei Cruz opened his dojo in Woodstock, Alabama, then expanded to Hueytown, Alabama, where he is currently teaching. Sensei Cruz received his 5th degree in July 2014 at the Super Fights. He is also head of WYKKO and J Cruz Xtreme martial arts demo team which includes students from Talladega dojo.
