- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After learning the craft with my uncles as a kid, I worked with other companies and friends - solidified my skills, learned boom lift operation, and developed leadership, planning, and productivity expertise by my early 30s. Then went solo on local projects, and now I’m building Connect Painting into a business I’m proud of.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently painted a beautiful barn in Chelsea, AL. The homeowner expanded the barn to store his lawn equipment and wanted it to look sharp. My team and I spent two weeks on meticulous prep - pressure washing, sealing seams, small repairs - followed by 2 coats of Sherwin Williams premium paint. Great outcome, and the homeowner was thrilled with the result.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for quality, not just price. Check their process and insurance. Make sure they use quality materials and are transparent about it. Watch out for hidden fees, unrealistic promises, reselling jobs, or sending unexperienced crews. A legit contractor communicates openly, stands behind their work, and has skilled workers who know how to do it right.
