Land surveyors are licensed by the Alabama State Board of Licensure for Engineers and Land Surveyors. Check the State Board's website and be sure you are dealing with a licensed land surveyor. Also, look for practitioners who are members of the Alabama Society of Professional Land Surveyors (ASPLS). Verification of membership status can be obtained from the ASPLS website.
