Many trainers and health coaches believe that calorie restriction and over-exercising is the best way to lose weight, but here’s how that’s wrong: for some clients, doing hour-long hard-core high-intensity interval training may cause a sudden increase in the stress hormone, leading to MORE fat gain or a plateau (weight-loss resistance). This is especially true for women over 40, but also when certain conditions are present.

For in-person personal training/nutrition inquiries (Birmingham, Alabama), I use my beautiful, private home spa-like studio complete with a multi-station gym, various free weights, TRX, balls, a stretch zone, Far Infrared Sauna, and showers. I occasionally combine this with a local gym (at no cost to you). I also love high-intensity Interval exercises for some clients (high, low, or no impact) for endurance, strength, and weight loss, but I also use a variety of formats like barre, yoga, core, and for the dancers--zumba!
