Rolando and crew did a wonderful job painting the exterior of our house! We are very pleased with the work they did, and they are very nice and easy to work with. I could tell they really want to make their customers happy and do the job right! Our house is old (built in 1950) with wood siding so it took a lot of paint. Rolando made sure he stuck with the original estimate even though it actually required more paint than we initially thought. We are very happy and will use his service again in the future if we ever need any work done. Thank you!

We have two (kid sized) bedrooms where both regular closets (ie not walk-ins) were expanded with built-in shelves, drawers and dowel rods for hanging clothes with automatic lights. They also repaired some water spots on the ceiling and repaired and repainted some walls and ceilings. The work took approximately 5 days. The workers were on-time and courteous. We are quite pleased with the quality of work and the price was reasonable. In particular Bradford Painting was able to solve our closet re-design with good design ideas that helped make the space more useful and simultaneously keep costs down. When getting quotes from other contractors, they seemed to have trouble understanding what we wanted to do, but Bradford Painting was understood and was able to make suggestions that really made a difference. Additionally, they were very accommodating in performing a few extra repair tasks that were not in the original quote for a reasonable price. Thanks!!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is the best way to remove wallpaper?

There are several proven methods for wallpaper removal; each has its pros and cons, but some are definitely easier. Peeling is usually the least painful, followed by soaking and stripping. Dry-stripping is the next most time-consuming, and steaming the most work. The average wallpaper removal job costs between $360 and $560. The method of removal can affect the cost, as steaming takes longer than peeling and will therefore typically cost more. Peeling wallpaper off is usually the quickest method. To see if your wallpaper can be peeled off, try gently edging up a corner and carefully peeling the paper off the wall in strips. If you can’t peel, then you’ll have to score and strip it, either by dry-stripping or by soaking and then stripping. Plaster walls can withstand moisture and can stand up to soaking and stripping, but drywall should not be soaked. For very stubborn wallpaper, steaming may be necessary, which is time-consuming but effective. If you prefer not to attempt these methods yourself, wallpaper removal pros have the proper tools and experience to quickly take down wallpaper and also repair any damage to your walls.
