FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depending on the job we have enough experience to estimate per project by breaking down the steps it will take to achieve your goal. Print is a separate estimate and depends on the design selected, format and quantity. AA's are additional after a certain amount of hours or requests made by the client after the design has been submitted and reviewed. Often these changes are reflective of many copy edits made. It pays to get your copy approved ahead of submission to the designer.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before we start a design project a budget needs to be established so we are on the same page. The structure of the project is submitted for approvals. I ask that a new client give me as much direction and input as possible so I can better hit the mark on design. They can do this by showing examples of what they like and don't like. Colors, styles etc. Once the budget is approved we move on to idea boards depending on the intensity of the design needed. From these boards creative ideas are developed and narrowed down. A presentation is developed to present creative ideas. Selections are made, creative continues and final production begins. Along the way if the client requests changes they are entered on time sheets. All design development, production, AA's/edits are logged on time sheets in 15 min increments.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ha, constantly. The wheel of design and software is always changing. We have to stay involved every step of the way. Lots of reading, tutorials and workshops.
