From student, Tori M, age 12: Mrs. Krista is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. She never yells at you and she always works with any problem you may have with your song. She gives great advice for your voice so you never damage it. She is one of the nicest, funniest, sweetest teachers you will ever have. From Susie, parent of Tori M, age 12: Krista is the best! She is very patient and works with her students on choosing songs that they will enjoy as well as work within their vocal range. She is professional yet makes her lessons fun. She is extremely talented and her love of music is obvious. She has been very kind and patient to my child specifically and we both adore her!

Before coming to Fred's studio, I had already been playing for 14+ years with private lessons. However, I hadn't had the opportunity to take lessons for a couple years and I missed the structure that came with piano lessons. Not only did I get the structure that I wanted with weekly piano lessons, but Fred has been able to help re-inspire me to love the instrument. I leave each weekly lesson excited about the music I'm supposed to play. He doesn't waste my time teaching me principles I already know, instead he opens points of discussion about what the composer might have intended and how to play with feeling and expression. There have been several times where the day of my lesson comes and I haven't practiced. I feel apprehensive and wished I'd canceled the lesson with a feigned excuse so I can go home and practice instead. I'm always glad I didn't cancel when I get to the lesson, though, because Fred will inevitably teach me something new and get me excited to try again the next week.

Great quality voice lessons. She is truly learning how to sing properly. These lessons are not just a place for our child to learn a song, but to practice technique and discipline. She sets high standards while maintaining an encouraging and creative environment.

Heather finds ways to make voice lessons enjoyabl, while still being informative. She's great at phrasing the proper techniques in a way anyone can understand and copy.

Reese has been working with our son for years and has been a top influence in his life. He is a model for our son’s character. That is something no one can put a price tag on! He is a very talented and gifted instructor who teaches a variety of music. With his excellent guitar instruction it doesn’t matter what level of guitar you are starting at when you sign up for lessons, or what you want to learn. You could start with no idea about styles and genres of music and learn a lot of great stuff. Reese has years of experience and has worked with top Christian artists.

Great teacher! Michael is terrific with my 8 yr old son. He is patient, keeps him in focus as well as challenges him. Exactly what I was looking for.

About

Hello, my name is Roger. I am a 24-year-old dental student at UAB. I have been playing guitar for more than 10 years. I have released an album on iTunes and have taught many students how to play guitar over the last 5 to 7 years. I provide guitar lessons for beginning and intermediate players. I have had the most experience with teaching acoustic guitar but have also had experience with electric guitar and classical guitar. If you have a guitar, then that's awesome, but if you only want to learn and don't want to purchase a guitar yet, then I can bring an extra guitar for our lessons together for you to use! With reasonable rates but limited scheduling, please contact me for more information. Guitar is one of the most useful, if not the most useful, instrument to play and is not that difficult to learn. With just a few lessons, you will be able to play many of the songs you love from major recording artists.

I have different ways to teach guitar. If a student doesn't understand an idea one way, I have other ways to teach the concept.

Cindy Woodham holds a Masters in Music Education from Florida State University, and a Masters in Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She is well-versed in teaching methodologies and has utilized most piano curriculum in her teaching. Classical, as well as pop music, is taught with an emphasis on learning chord structure and form. She specializes in teaching those who have dyslexia and other learning disabilities. Her students love her encouraging teaching style and her love of playing the piano. "I believe that playing should be fun, and learning to play should be as well!" Creativity and writing your own songs is explored and encouraged during lessons as well. Most lessons are 30 minutes in length, but also give 45 or 60-minute lessons.

Hi. I have been teaching guitar for five years and am able to teach a wide range of styles. Maybe you just want to learn your favorite songs, or maybe you want to learn how to write your own music, I can help you with both. I will spend the time to find out how you want to learn and tailor your lessons to get you where you want to be. Each student will receive individual instruction. I don't believe in formulas for learning, so you can decide if you like the approach or would like to try something different. My goal for any student is to get you playing on your own without any help as soon as possible. After a few lessons, you will have the knowledge required to continue playing and learning on your own and won't even need to continue lessons (unless, of course, you'd like to).

I'm a very good guitarist. I've played for 5 years, but I learned a lot and wrote down in notes some ways to shortcut learning. I teach bass guitar and music theory. Just call me for pricing; my rates are pretty cheap and fair with $5 to $40 per hour, depending on location.

I help kids learn the songs they love and give them an outlet for artistic expression. My guitar has been my best friend since I was 14 years old, and I see it and hold it and feel great peace. I'd like to help others have that feeling, too.
