Awesome movers. On time and very professional. Move quickly but safely taking plenty of care not to damage furniture. Very polite and worked as quickly as possible on the clock. Nothing but praises for these guys.

We had a hundred year old box piano to move and All Around Movers did an excellent job. They were very understanding of how fragile and HEAVY it was. Would definitely use them again.

Mr. Francis and his crew did an excellent job moving my furniture, most of which were fragile. I cannot speak more highly of this moving team. We have used various movers all over the country and will never use anyone else again while in Huntsville. They are the answer to your moving prayers. Mr. Francis and his movers were extremely professional, punctual, communicative and polite, hardworking and speedy, and lastly, efficient with moving timing. Totally went the extra mile - helping us put boxes in correct areas of the house and opened difficult boxes for me. They are also extremely easy to book over the phone. It was a big weight off my mind when moving is so stressful already. This company should be your first choice, end of story.

The experience with Motivated Movers was overall very pleasant. The reason they don't get 5 stars is because in my initial quote the only fee I was told about was $135/hour. There was no mention of the $200 piano handling fee or the $75 set travel fee. Thankfully the time spent on my moving project evened out and I paid very close to the original quoted price. The service agent also "waived" the piano handling fee since it wasn't mentioned in my original quote. I would work with them again for a moving project.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much should you tip furniture movers?

Moving furniture is hard work and potentially dangerous unless you’re properly equipped. For anyone not ready to handle their heavy oak armoire alone, professional furniture movers can safely and efficiently move your items to another room in your house or across town as needed. The national average cost to hire heavy furniture movers is $150-$200 per hour. This rate could include multiple furniture movers working as a team to move items such as beds, armoires, billiards tables, pianos, shelves, tables, entertainment centers and more. Hourly rates can vary by region. If your furniture movers have arrived on time, done a great job, kept your home and belongings protected from scratches and dings, and completed the move as planned, a tip will be greatly appreciated. Moving companies suggest approximately 10 percent of the total bill as gratuity for those doing local moving jobs, which is also a good guideline for tipping heavy furniture movers. If the total bill for heavy moving was $100 and two workers were onsite, consider giving them $10 total, or $5 each for a job well done.
