My project was very complex, to me. This company had the knowledge and skills to perform multiple jobs on the project. We had the roof replaced, New sidding installed, and exterior paint. On the inside the company installed role in two showers, replaced sheetrock, installed role flooring, and painted all of interior. Not only was the project completed on schedule, every staff member mad the project successful. Will greatly recommend this company.

The best experience with a contractor in my 13 years in Pensacola! Eric showed up ahead of schedule, every day. It was obvious that he takes great pride in his work, as well as taking pride in customer service. He completed my schedule on schedule, with fantastic results. I give him the highest possible recommendation for interior painting services. Top Notch, and Professional, all the way!

Over the past four years I have engaged the services of Kebs Coutinho for several home improvement projects. Kebs work ethics are impressive resulting in consistently high quality workmanship. Home improvement projects he has completed for me include: interior painting, screen and door installation, dead bolts, (2) patio screen room enclosures, adding electrical outlets, yard fencing, and lawn soding to name a few. Kebs has proven to be honest and trustworthy and I do not hesitate to recommend him to others in need of his services.

Sure Color is AMAZING!! They took an old knotty pine basement and painstakingly caulked each and every knot to make the finished product look like wainscoting. I can't belive the difference!! They are good, honest people and I never felt uncomfortable with them in my home, even when I couldn't be. I love showing off my basement and people are shocked when I show them before pictures. Sure Color truly does an outstanding job! I couldn't be more thrilled with their work!

I have used Brandy and Brian for several interior and exterior painting and drywall repair jobs and each time I am more amazed at the quality of their work. They are easy to contact, show up on time, very professional, clean up at the end of each day and their prices are very fair. The job they are currently doing on my home is a brick mortar rub and looks awesome. I have also recomended them to several of my friends and co-workers and have had noting both positive feed back. Bottom line...this type of professional is hard to come by these days and I will definately use them again and again.

Dustin and Mike were professional, polite, and did a wonderful job! We interviewed 7 contractors for about 1100 sqft of interior painting. The job required a repaint of a DIY Tuscan nightmare from the previous owners. High Roller painting not only expertly repainted the walls to an elegant neutral theme with high quality Shermin Williams paint, but also removed wallpaper, did minor wall repair, touched up trim and ceilings from the previous mess, and even caulked trim where it was starting to separate from the wall. They were the most competitive quote and we received excellent service. Five stars, we will definitely use for future projects.

We recently moved back to Mobile and needed a painter to paint the entire interior of our new but unrespected house (ceilings, walls, and woodwork for 3200 sq ft). Well, first, try to find a painter who can do the work promptly. Not easy! Second, try to find a painter that comes with excellent credentials and references. Even harder!!! Everyone I talked to said, "if you find a good painter, let me know." After being totally frustrated, we found Mr. Richard Benedict of Benedict Paint and Wallcovering on Thumbtack. Richard personally came and assessed the job, gave us his credentials and references (highly impressive), and presented his bid within 24 hours. Considering the amount of work Richard had to do, his bid was very fair. He was able to start within a few days of presenting us the bid. Benedict Paint and Wallcovering is a family endeavor. Richard helped me choose the color palette and explained many things about the painting process that I didn't know...very informative and educational, which I totally appreciated. Our huge project was completed in a timely manner with 2 coats of paint applied to all areas. The walls, ceilings, and woodwork look fabulous. Richard also varnished our much neglected mahogany front doors making them looking almost new again. My husband and I are thoroughly pleased with the finished products. We plan on using Richard for future painting and highly recommend Richard and his family for any painting projects.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

    • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
    • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
    • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
    • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
