She is extremely easy to communicate with. There is no confusion at all when trying to convey what I'm trying to get across. I gave her two resumes and to pretty much consolidate for me, which was done in a timely manner. I will certainly hire her again as I continue to search for a permanent of Job in my field as an Automation tester with Selenium Web-driver. I will continue to use her services for formatting, grammatical and pretty much marketing my skills in a professional manner. Again I personally and highly recommend her.

Candace Barr did an excellent job with my resume. I would definitely recommend her to anyone. Her work was very professional, concise and well put together. And I needed my resume updated quickly and she delivered promptly. Could not have asked for a better outcome.

Linda Beam was an amazing editor for my dissertation manuscript. She was extremely quick and effective with e-mail replies and answers to last-minute questions. I didn't feel inadequate in the least when her revision suggestions came back with ways to improve my writing. Linda saved me hours of revisions by scheduling an appointment (online) to read my manuscript before it was due to my university dean. She allotted both of us adequate time to read, revise, submit, and revise again before due dates. I am profoundly grateful to her for 'coaching' me throughout this writing process. I am still applying the lessons I learned from Linda in my writing today. Best decision EVER!

I needed my resume written in the most professional way where I would be pro-trade as the best candidate for whatever job I was applying for and man, did I get what I asked for. Mrs. Barton couldn't have been any more intelligent and helpful if I designed her myself. She walked me through the steps one by one to give the best and most important information that needed to be on my resume and not clutter it with insignificant statements. She called me and read the resume content to me so I could hear what it sounded like as if I were the empolyer doing the hiring for that position. That was a big factor I would have never thought of writing the resume myself. She would give suggestions about what I should use to describe me and my talents/experience so when it was put on paper I was nothing but totally comfortable with each and every word on the page. I highly recommend this company to anyone needing a professional, eye-popping/#1 ranked written resume.

I have hired Cynthia Steiner to provide copywriting and editing services on a number of marketing and publishing projects. I do this because Cynthia is a talented, versatile writer, she’s an excellent listener, and she finishes projects on time and within budget. Recently I asked her to write a capabilities web article for a financial services client. Cynthia interviewed two sources and turned around a polished, persuasive 1,600-word story in three days. The article was quickly approved and posted. That level of professionalism keeps me coming back to Cynthia Steiner for my writing needs. I highly recommend her.

    About

From start to finish and everything in between, I offer top-quality content and editing every time. Often described as "psychic" when it comes to understanding the needs of my clients, I dedicate myself, too, to perfect copy and am willing to revise as necessary. So far, though, no one has ever asked me to rework an article. Each has always been 100% acceptable with some surprises that have brought clients back again and again. The difference that gives me the edge in the field is that I truly care about the needs of my clients, the reading experience of their audience, and the integrity of my product. Let me show you what I can do. My skills include SEO White Hat, SEO Strategy, Branding, Social Media Engagement and Strategy, Narrative, Creative Writing, Writing Coaching and Consultation (to help you become a self-sufficient writer), and Rhetoric.

We are also a Church School just getting started. I believe we as parents absolutely are responsible for what our children learn. There are positive aspects and negative aspects to each new situation--it becomes a new learning experience. Now, do you know what they are learning? Are you sure that they are learning the positivie things? Sometimes, a simple misunderstanding could cause a child to not fully grasp the meaning or the right meaning. Don't drill them in the ground--not by any means--but this picture of life is all interrelated. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you hire a good grant writer?

Grants are available to nonprofit organizations, for-profit businesses that qualify for government grants, and individuals who qualify for foundation or government grants. Hiring a good grant writer can help you gain funding in your chosen field. According to the American Grant Writers’ Association, grant writers can help you research potential grant opportunities; write grant proposals, create budgets, and build budget narratives; review written materials before you submit; prepare a business plan; analyze your organization for grant competitive qualities; prepare research grants; help with 501(c)(3) applications for nonprofits; and more. Investing in the right grant writer could result in a financial win for your organization. Generally no licenses or certificates are required to be a good grant writer, but you may want to find a grant writer who has been certified (not just received a certificate of completion) by a reputable organization such as the Grant Professionals Certification Institute. Qualities to look for in a good grant writer include:

    • Proven success writing winning grants, especially in your target area.
    • Strong writing skills.
    • Strong math skills and demonstrated proficiency with budgeting.
    • Careful attention to detail — brilliant grant proposals may be rejected just for formatting errors, so you want someone who follows instructions explicitly.
    • Expertise in your target area.
    • Punctuality and good communication skills.

How much does a grant writer cost?

Hiring a grant writer can give you a competitive edge when applying for financial grants for your business or nonprofit organization, or as an individual. The cost to hire a grant writer can vary depending on their academic background, areas of expertise, previous grant writing success and years of experience. According to the Grant Professionals Association, grant writers should be paid hourly or by flat fee. It is unethical for a grant writer to accept a commission or percentage compensation of grant monies received. They can, however, be awarded bonuses in line with the hiring company’s prevailing practices. Here are some examples of average grant writing fees:

    • Hourly rate for grant writers with less experience or fewer grants awarded: $25-$35 per hour.
    • Hourly rate for grant writers with some degree of success: $35-$75 per hour.
    • Hourly rate for grant writers with proven success winning large grants: $75-$150 or more per hour.
    • For a smaller grant, the writer may charge a flat fee of $200-$500 for preparation and submission.

Pricing may also vary based on the complexity of the grant application. A federal grant that requires pages of research, budgets and a business plan may take more than 30 hours to prepare. For a high-level grant writer who charges $100 per hour, this means $3,000 or more in grant writing fees.

Most grant writers will provide you with a total cost estimate before agreeing to the work. You may be required to pay a deposit up front, or the grant writer may work from a retainer. Often, seasoned grant writers pay for themselves in the long run by writing successful grants.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
