Whether you are seeking a solution or acceptance of something without a solution, psychotherapy offers a unique space for attention, acceptance, exploration, and growth. Theresa Qualls is a licensed counselor, psychotherapist, and teacher who enjoys listening to the hearts of others. She loves providing a safe, accepting, confidential space for clients to explore their life stories, share their pain, and learn to honor and interpret their heart's deepest desires. Theresa's approach is psychodynamic, meaning she will work with you to discover how the past patterns and themes of your life maybe contributing to your present difficulty. She is also solution focused, meaning she will assist you in identifying causes of distress and quickly reduce unwanted symptoms. Prior to becoming a therapist, Theresa enjoyed careers in administration, teaching, and missions. She has worked as a therapist since 2008 when she received a master of arts degree in counseling psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. Before beginning private practice, Theresa counseled clients at The Center, Inc., in Edmonds, WA, and also at the Arkansas CARES program in Little Rock, AR. She works predominantly with adults but will also see children, 12 and older. Theresa has specialized experience with grief/loss, depression, physical and sexual abuse, trauma, eating disorders, relational issues, addiction, mood disorders, and spiritual questions.
