FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically, I charge a penny per word when writing. I charge $3 for every letter-sized page edited. I will combine page costs if there are few edits per page. For design, it really depends on what you need and how complicated it is. For writing and editing projects less than five pages, I charge a small fee to cover PayPal and Thumbtack expenses.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's of Fine Arts in Writing with an emphasis in Fiction. I am the Chair of the Publications Committee for Carnegie Writers, Inc. I have worked as a tutor, a mentor, a proofreader, and a designer for various clients. I worked as an editorial assistant for the Lindenwood Review -- a collegiate literary journal.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I didn't. Originally, I was going for Veterinary Sciences. I always had a passion for storytelling, however, and the English language soon pulled me down a new career path. Even then, I was focusing on language and not art. When I had some credits to fill, I let myself dabble in various media. A friend convinced me to try graphic design, and I never looked back.
