Communication with the student is everything. You must first master two abilities. The ability to be patient and listen. This only comes with humility and experience. Although there are multitudes of great teaching professionals; there are times there is a communication gap that prevents synergy between the student and the pro. We as Professionals must put their needs first and forget about who we are and work diligently towards their goals. If not, very little gets done and the student walks away with question and sometime dissatisfaction. As I get a lot of clean up work, or second lessons from previous failed lessons with others, I don't mind at all. This is one of the greatest compliments I get; because they come from the recommendation from past students.

I just started working with Thom at Glen Lakes golf course. Thom is very straight forward with his lessons and explains what the reason is for each drill. The first two lesson have gone so well that i signed up for a long series with him. I left one star off because i still have to get through the long series. i have to make him work for something.

The lessons were great and I really learned a lot. Thom Harrison is a fantastic instructor! He loves to teach and it shows in his attitude! The course is okay and the range is good. The only downside is that Thom is also the manager and wears a few other hats. As a result, I hate to say that Thom missed a few lessons without any notice. This was such a common occurrence that Thom was going to make up for it by giving an extra paying lesson. Again, a no show. I did get two free rounds of golf so I'm not going to complain too much. I understand that things happen, but a phone call or message is not difficult to do in this age. Proper notification would have gotten 5 stars, but I can only give four as it stands.

My experience with Thom was limited to the initial lesson because I fell and broke my wrist days after the first session. During the initial session Thom was able to make several suggestions that significantly improved my ball striking. I will definitely continue with Thom with multiple lessons as soon as my wrist heals.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I like to find out what goals and objectives a student has. It is important to find out where one is and draw out a personal curriculum that is simple to follow. I use a three step system that is simple to follow, demonstrate, learn, duplicate and correct that has been working for years. Using video is a must in order to allow students to see where they are and the progression throughout their experience.

Accredited; Master Golf Instructor for the United States Golf Teachers Federation along with continuous Education Every two years.
Course Examiner in the State of Arizona; Teaching other Teachers how to Teach.
