How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started cleaning apartments when I was about 15 years old for our landlord. He asked me one day when I was on school break for summer if I wanted to make some extra money for the summer and I said sure what do I have to do. He said when he tenant’s move out clean the apartment so the new tenant’s can move in. It sounded easy enough…. Well let’s just say the first apartment I cleaned looked like it should have been condemned the people that moved out really trashed the place. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to get it cleaned enough for his liking. I gathered up my mom’s cleaning supplies and went to work it took me just about 10 hrs but when the landlord came back to pay me he was amazed at the job I did. I think it’s the first time I felt such a strong sense of pride. From that day on I have loved turing a space that is dirty,cluttered, or unorganized into a space that people truly enjoy
