The tech who serviced our water heater and R/O filtration system was very knowledgeable and took time to explain everything. Work was done quickly, thoroughly, and affordably!
Although a simple thermocouple replacement somehow turned into a complete new water heater install, Lou was very punctual and did great work. His costs are slightly higher than most of his competitors, but the job was completed promptly.
Showed up next day after being contacted and installed 2 water heaters at my rental. So far so good and appreciate the urgency that was taken
Charles spent several hours on a few repairs that we needed for my mother's townhouse - replacing the hot water heater, removing a non-functioning water softener, replacing an upstairs bath tub cartridge, installing a new toilet. His charges were exactly what he quoted, very fair and some of the aspects of some of the work ended up involving more time than originally anticipated.
My existing electrical connections did not fit with the new Hot Water Heater being installed. The technician purchased the necessary parts to remedy the problem at no additional cost to me. Very happy with the service and immediate response, attention to my requests. Thank you.
The problem was the apparent sudden death of an 80 gallon Rheem water heater. I initially called Ready Services but, as luck would have it, they weren't ready ... so I hit up Thumbtack ... and got Brett. He had to come from Scottsdale to Lincoln Heights, pretty much on a moments notice and managed it in less than two hours. It took him less than an hour to resuscitate the Rheem ( when he really could have gotten away with telling me to replace it ). At the end of the ordeal He billed me $180 bucks ... instead of the $225 he originally quoted ... not bad at all. I may be forced to adopt him ... just to keep a good service guy around.
Tech was very knowledge and thorough in his work. He fixed our drainage issue and took the time to examine our sinks, toilets and water heater for other issues and gave us thorough estimates and advice on everything. I really appreciated how quickly and easily we were able to set up the appointment as well, and the tech was right on time.
I had a potential buyer for my home and during the inspection it was noted that the hot water heater had corrosion and was on an improper base. To make matters worse, it was a 75 gallon water heater; not always in stock. Michael Defrates put in a very reasonable bid and performed the work within 48 hours. He brought everything with him and even did a terrific clean up job. His work is top notch and I highly recommend him. The potential buyers signed the contract thanks to his fast work.
Photo updates to follow First, I should say that for a big project like this, I would hire John again, bottom line. That is probably the most straightforward way to assess the renovation as a whole. We hear nightmare stories all the time about significant (and even minor) home renovations and, while we had our frustrations, we went through a big job with few significant complaints. Planning/cost: Initially discussing the project, John was extremely receptive to our budget needs: we had saved up a very specific amount of money, and needed to complete two big projects in order to make the house more appealing to future renters (as we plan to move to a home with my wife's parents for the foreseeable future). The house had only one bathroom, even though it was approximately 1600 square feet. We needed to fix that if any families were going to rent. John understood and very clearly explained where we would be able to save money, what he would charge us for his work, for materials he bought vs. materials we provided, the realistic areas we could go cheap and the areas we couldn't scrimp on. John's price was not just competitive, but frankly made the difference between us being able to have these two complete and dramatic projects vs. one that would have left us feeling wanting. However, it was the price along with the fact that his clients indicated he was flexible and budget sensitive through the whole project that made the decision for us. (We've certainly dealt with people who claim to be able to work with "x" budget, and then everything somehow inflates dramatically over time.) We had a laundry/utility room that was separated from the main house by a breezeway. John connected it to the main house with brick in the same style as the house. He converted the room to a full bath and laundry room with a large shower. Simultaneously, he opened up the bare backyard wall of the main house, installing larger windows and glass french doors. Quality of work/cleanliness: John completed a great deal of the work himself, using a subcontractor to perform most of the brick work and the drywall. The quality, functionality, and look of the work overall was simply fantastic. Day after day they meticulously cleaned up their work, leaving as little footprint as possible on our day to day lives throughout the process, which, frankly reduced the stress that I believe tends to naturally accumulate during such projects. Once we paint it I believe the new brick will be entirely indistinguishable from the old. The brick has extremely clean lines in the same pattern as the existing work, and the finishing work around the windows and doors is excellent. We did have a brief ordeal flushing out a clog that seemed to result from construction debris, but ultimately the plumbing is excellent. Similarly, the shower tile work ultimately is terrific, but we did have a problem with the layout due to an error that John corrected, and it looks wonderful. In the bathroom, he took what was basically a junk/laundry room and installed an elegantly laid out vanity, toilet, laundry hookups on one side, and a massive shower, and utility/cleanup sink on the other, with room to spare. He added a simple half-wall to divide the toilet from the washer/dryer that works perfectly to separate the space. The shower he created for us is enormous and beautiful. Every time we go in the room, we are impressed all over again. The whole room could have appeared like a necessary appendage stuck on to the rest of the house, but that large, bright tile shower makes the room look elegant. Flexibility: I hated to lose my very functional utility sink from that room and hadn't planned for a replacement; however, John helped by coming up with a clever solution to put a sealed brick sink in with the water heater closet. which works perfectly. It's a clean, and very functional solution that I constantly appreciate having, though it was certainly a significant adjustment for him. When we requested adjustments, it felt as though John quoted a bit high to accommodate time and materials (and his added stress). But all in all he was fair and up front about the work, his time, and our options. That being said, there were some frustrations: Our frustrations all come down to communication and documentation. I don't fault John for all of this - his talent lies in the work he does; had we been more on the ball, we would have been more clear and organized ourselves. We had any number of preliminary discussions with John, and agreed to three or four major things up front, that satisfied us the work could be done in a way that would meet all of our needs. But as the project began and progressed, numerous details were forgotten. Specifically, the layout of the utility room and the physical requirements for the french doors to be installed. John repeatedly asked how we wanted to accommodate something as if we had not already come to a conclusion on the matter and we would essentially have to re-figure it out. Specifically, he forgot the layout that best accommodated all of the elements I mentioned above, and he forgot that he would have to "float" the bathroom wall, requiring a different (pricier) toilet than originally planned. Additionally, when he went to start work on the french doors, he had to take extra time to order a lintel that would span the entire length rather than two separate lintels - but, of course these were dimensions he'd known since originally planning the project. Things like this ultimately got worked out to our satisfaction, with one frustrating exception, but if either of us had documented what we'd agreed upon, it would have saved a great deal of hassle and debate, as my wife and I had to re-discuss everything ourselves as well, which reinforced John's feeling that we'd never come to a final agreement to begin with. Time/documentation: While we believe John was more than fair in his billing, the lack of clear, consistent documented days/hours prevented us from having a clear, concrete idea where we stood financially during the project. This impacted us when, in a couple of instances, we did ask for changes (such as installing the utility sink) and he quoted us for the change, though we had no idea whether we were in the high or low end of the overall planned project. All of this is to say: John worked it all out, and he did so in a way that was affordable, excellent, excellent, quality, beautiful work. But, in order to avoid frustration, agreements as to planning should be documented and ongoing days/hours worked should be documented. This would help avoid revisiting complicated plans and would allow for adjustments without having to be in the dark about the bottom line. Day in, day out, we are grateful for the work John did, and that it didn't eat us alive financially, because he did come in right in line with the budget. We love looking through our fantastic glass doors every morning. We have guests stay with us for a day or two, and love having a beautiful distinct bathroom they can use when they stay with us. We love knowing they won't feel they're entering into some dark corner of the house tacked on because it had to be, but that there's a beautiful bath with plenty of space that they can make themselves feel at home in.
Able to understand what I needed. I have plumbing knowledge and ablitly just not the time to do it myself anymore. The new tankless hotwater heater install Mike did was very clean and professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
The first projects Joseph Lynch did for me was to replace built-in appliances; microwave, disposal, and dishwasher. He has subsequently repaired problems with both outdoor irrigation plumbing and indoor plumbing, including replacing a water heater. He helped me with renovation projects of all kinds, such as running electrical lines to add ceiling fans to bedrooms, and replacing counters, cabinets, toilets and sinks. He has a lot of experience, and knows how to do things right the first time.
Excellent, Stephano (sp) walked me through the process, originally I wanted to put in a Tankless heater, but, he informed me of the cost of adding electrical lines to meet my needs...he didn't have to do that...he came out the same day, fixed all the plumbing areas, installed the new heater with the care as if he was installing it in his own home. Great Job!!
Arrived on time and installed hot water heater in about an hour. Very pleased.
George was contracted to replace our hot water heater after quoting a reasonable price for his labor and the unit. (I checked with multiple plumbers before deciding on George.) He arrived on time and had the work done within a reasonable amount of time. While there, we had him tackle a couple of additional jobs. Those services were very fairly priced, even though we did not have an earlier estimate. I would highly recommend using George for any plumbing job you may encounter.
I used AJ Home Improvements for repairs that needed completed due to a water leak in my home caused by a defective water heater. The water damaged my drywall in the garage, baseboard in several rooms and also my wood flooring in several rooms. AJ Home Improvements repaired the drywall that was damaged and did an impressive job. Most drywall repairman don’t blend the texture very well and you can tell it’s a repair. Armando and Jorge did the job so well; you can’t even tell the areas they repaired were even repairs. The baseboard was installed as if it was the original installation. They did a great job installing the wood flooring, better the original installers. I had them install wood flooring in another room and I wish I had them do my original floors. They take their time and care about the work that they do and is shows in the finished results. Jorge and Armando were nothing but courteous, professional, reliable and fair in price. I will definitely use these guys for future home improvements. Daniel
Eirich was excellent to work with. He was very responsive to my SOS when my water heater went down on a Sunday, no less. He was very professional & his work was excellent. I have since had him back to work on a few other projects. I would highly recommend Eirich.
Morgan was a pleasure to talk with on the phone - she quickly found a specialist in my area for the same day. Alex came within about an hour after I called him. Immediately cleared off the stuff that was damaged by water and set up dehumidifier, fan, and applied treatment. Came back on the third day to wrap everything up. The area was completely dry and ready for drywall repair. It was a pleasure working with Alex. I would definitely hire them again. The price was very reasonable.
I had a hot water heater leak at my property about a month ago and I was told from my sister in law that she had used a company called Service Experts that she had found on Thumbtack when she had a leak (water damage) under her kitchen sink, and she stated she had nothing but positive things to say about her experience with this company. I am extremely happy that I listened to my sister in laws recommendation as my experience with this company exceeded my expectations. This company was very knowledgable, honest, professional, reliable, and kind. They made the entire process a breeze and were very flexible and communicated with me on a daily basis so I was aware as to what was going on each day. They not only did the drying out, but they were also able to provide and install a new water heater, as well as they were able to do the repairs once everything was dried out, which made the situation way less stressful since I didn't have to find other companies to provide the other necessary services, they do it all! I would definitely refer this company to all my family and friends as well as use them down the road if I ever come across a similar situation. Thanks for all your help and I couldn't be happier with the outcome of the repairs!
We had an energy audit done by Entirely Pure. They were very thorough on checking all aspect of our house and informing us of all the different things we can do and how much we could save. We installed an attic fan, radiant barrier and window tint. A++ company
Well, I've worked with Sam Thomas (with his wife, Lois doing the scheduling) for a few years. My most recent experience with Safari Plumbing was outstanding. And all his previous work was excellent too. Sam installed a reverse osmosis system and replaced our garbage disposal a little over a year ago and we were very pleased. My best and most recent experience came when I was selling the house in Arizona and the buyer's inspector said the water heater needed replacement. Sam was able to do it the same day I called him!! He replaced it with a great German engineered heater- And all at a very reasonable price. I even asked him if he was charging enough for his labor and time and travel to go get the thing. That same inspector had tried to say that the almost new garbage disposal wasn't working. It didn't sound right to him. Sam commented that it was powerful and in a large empty (at the time) room. But when he came to replace the water heater he took the time to carefully inspect the disposal and found a very tiny piece of metal - part of a staple, he thought. So all was well. I have very much appreciated having Safari Plumbing do any work we needed done. Sam is great. I apologize that I didn't do this review sooner. It came into my phone email, but not my desktop email, which is where I usually check my email. Kim, you must be a daughter. Debbie Tillman
