"Wow, is all I can say about my experience with Dynamic Audio Video Solutions. My wife and I purchased our dream home and needed to get our Home Theater setup completed quickly and done right. We were getting major upgrades to our new home and Nick Perna and Dynamic Audio Video Solutions were the right guys to go with for all our Audio needs. One of many reasons I chose Dynamic Audio Video Solutions was we needed serious Drywall work done prior to our Home Theater installation, and we were working on a timeline that required this be done while other projects were being performed. Not only did Nick and his team meet the deadline, they did it with flying colors. Chris and Jeff completed the Framing and Drywall work flawlessly, and made sure it was done right the first time, and before the painters arrived. Another reason we went with Nick was his estimate was fair and he worked with us on exactly what we needed. He made great recommendation, while also taking our suggestions seriously. Nick and Brandon came on time, and were clear on what was being done. My wife is very particular about perfection and didn’t want any exposed wires or cords. The work included mounting our new 65 inch 4K TV, installing a 7.2 Dual Zone Surround System in our family room and outside patio that including wiring, electrical work with 6 ceiling speakers installed inside and out. Nick made sure everything was clean and working perfectly when the job was done. We could not be happier with the work Nick and his entire team did installing our Home Theater, it was perfect. Nick and Dynamic Audio Video Solutions have my highest recommendation and will certainly be returning to complete other Home Theater project in the near future. You won’t go wrong with these guys; they know this business up and down. We got what we wanted and got it done right. Thanks again for an amazing Job. 5 Stars!!! Gary"

"Many thanks to Kyle for installing our Home Theater and running the speaker wires and HDMI cable behind the walls. Kyle started our interaction by promptly replying to my request on Thumbtack. When we got on the phone, he took the time to listen and then overviewed his experience highlighting how he had done this type of job before. Finally he provided me with a fair price. Even though there were a couple unknowns, Kyle was able to work past that. On the job, Kyle showed up on time, and moved right along. He approached everything organized and efficient manner. Also, he kept the work area clean and put down plastic to protect our carpets and furniture. During our job, the actual fishing of the cables was proving difficult due to fire-blocks in the wall and very cramped space in the attic. Kyle did not quit and he came up with a great solution to follow the current path of the electrical wires. Although still difficult, Kyle's persistence and sense of humor prevented having to cut the drywall numerous times, the associated repairs including matching paint, etc. Upon completion of the job, Kyle took all of the trash with him and ensured the room was put back together. All-in-all, Kyle has a great attention to detail and I will be having him back to help with other projects. Kyle also mentioned that he has a crew of workers which he can provide for larger jobs."

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Who wall mounts TVs?

Electricians, handymen and TV installation specialists may all provide television mounting services. The person who does the mounting should be qualified and knowledgeable about basic construction concepts as well as working with audiovisual cables. In general, no specialized certificates are required to provide television mounting services, but as always do your diligence and make smart hiring decisions.

It’s important to find an experienced professional who will ensure the TV wall mount meets building code. Most regions have fire codes that don’t permit high-voltage power cords behind walls (low-voltage wires like HDMI and video cables are generally acceptable). A basic wall mount on drywall may take approximately one to two hours, while more complex mounts on brick or stone with hidden cables can take three or more hours. If you need more electrical outlets installed near your entertainment system, you may want to hire an electrician. Check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to mount a TV?

Elevate your home style with television mounting services. The national average price for television mounting services ranges between $100 and $130. Factors that can affect cost are the material of the wall you want the TV mounted on, whether you want the wires hidden, and any additional entertainment system connection you desire. It probably costs more to mount a TV on brick, stone or concrete than on drywall or plaster due to the added labor required to drill holes. For example, a company may charge an additional $99 to mount a TV on a brick wall. Here are some examples of average costs for television mounting services:

  • Basic TV wall mount: $40. Does not include bracket, device connection or strip management.
  • TV wall mount: $119. Includes bracket, mounting services, strip management system (for concealing external wires), and connection of all entertainment devices.
  • TV wall mount with wires hidden inside wall: $139.
  • Installation of additional electrical outlet: $65.
  • TV wall mount over fireplace with wires hidden: $179-$249.
  • TV wall mount and up to 5 speakers wall-mounted with hidden wires: $399.

Can a TV be mounted above a fireplace?

You may be able to mount your flat screen TV above your fireplace for a more streamlined look in your living room. In fact, TV mounting professionals can hang your flat screen TV flush with a wall or from a tilting or full-motion bracket mount in any room in your home. A tilting or full-motion mount may be the best option above a fireplace so you can tilt the TV down for the best viewing angle. Whether the wall above your fireplace is brick, drywall, concrete, stone or plaster, most television mounting services can accommodate your needs. Hardier wall surfaces like concrete or brick will require more labor and expertise to mount, and will likely have a higher price range.

If you want your AV and cable wires hidden in the wall, you will also pay a higher price due to the added time and skill to properly drill the holes and run wires. Before mounting your TV above your fireplace, consult with the manufacturer about necessary distance from heat sources. If the space above your fireplace gets too warm, another location could be better for the longevity of your TV. Your television mounting services may take between one and two hours, or more depending on your home theater setup.
