- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All of my cakes are custom-made to order and are charged by the number of servings that the cake will provide. Buttercream cakes start at $4.00 a serving and fondant cakes start at $5.00 a serving. I do not charge an additional fee nor do I increase the per serving cost for additional tiers. Cupcakes start at $24 a dozen as do cake pops. Delivery is available and starts at $20; the price increases based on the delivery location and on what is being delivered. The delivery fee for any cakes requiring assembly on site starts at $50.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I LOVE collaborating with my customers so that we can create the perfect cake together. I always ask my customers to share with me their vision for the confection, and this vision can be shared in many ways whether it's through a color story, meaningful details, pictures that inspire them, or pictures of other cakes why've found that they like. I then use these pieces to create a cake that brings to life what my customer wants. If desired, sketches can be created to ensure that we are on the same page.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a business owner and as a life-long learner, I am always taking classes to stay on the cutting edge of the cake decorating and bakery business. Whether it's learning new and better ways to deliver the ultimate taste experience or honing my decorating and sculpting skills, I am always on the lookout for opportunities to build upon and enhance my techniques. How else can I deliver the best product to my clients?
