During a renovation of my business in 2015, we were having concrete floors stripped and sanded. Our business was closed to employees and customers. Two contractors had access to the premises during this time, MG Floor Covering and Albion Contracting. Albion is a long time service provider and a personal friend, whom we have never had any issues with, in fact they are still doing some additional projects.
During the time that MG Floor Covering had access to the premises, several items were stolen (GO Pro, video camera accessories, sound system speakers), total cost of about $1400. When we contacted the owner, hoping for an apology at a minimum, he basically said "prove it".
I will accept that I was naive in leaving valuable items in my desk and office, and I consider this a lesson learned. It honestly never crossed my mind that they could not be trusted.
