FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's not really complicated. Our flooring side has its own pricing. If all the material is supplied by the customer we charge a sq.ft. price. If we supply the material its additional charge. We also require 25% of the total cost as a Deposite. The remaining 75% due upon completion of the job and we are required to sign a contract before any work is started. Now our handyman side we charge by the hour. We charge $55 for the first hour and $40 per hour after that. One hour min.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started out in this business when I was 17. It started out as a summer job with my uncle. When I started out I really didn't like it too much until I started installing the tile and I saw my work done for the first time. That did it. I was hooked on installing tile. Then I moved to doing wood flooring with my uncle. I knew this was the line of work for me. I couldnt see myself doing any other work and trust me I have had my share of jobs. I honestly love what I do.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your homework. Make sure they have refferances. First impressions are key. If you dont feel right with your contractor from the get go dont hire them. You should have some kind of relationship with them, they are working on your home and around your family after all. We have been hired after other contractors and that is our customers biggest complaint is that the contractor was just there to hurry up and get the job done and not take their time and do it right. They also didn't talk with the Customer and find out exactlly what they had on their mind for the job and what they wanted it to look like when completed.
