FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$15/hour per person. I charge additionally for travel time. Mileage is valued at $5 for every 30 miles. In a group setting, the travel time and mileage are charged only once, not per person, to be divided among the group as you see fit.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started doing yoga when my joints got tired of weight-training and high-impact cardio, about five years ago. I eventually started running the front desk at a privately-owned gym, and after attending a few group classes there, my boss/gym owner encouraged me to go for my teaching certification. I'm so glad she did!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I look to meet the specific needs of the client. In a group setting, I start with a warm up and gradually increase to higher-intensity, calorie-burning, vinyasa-based series of poses (as long as that's the requested class structure!), decreasing gradually to a relaxing cool-down with stretches, breath work and a final resting pose (corpse pose) consisting of 10% of the total practice time (6 minutes to a 60 minute class). If desired, the entire class can be relaxing, leaving out the sweat-inducing movements. In private lessons, the movements and poses would be based solely on what the client was looking to gain that day.
