FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is $220 per hour of music. This is the base rate which also includes set up, tear down, or drive time unless the gig is more than 30 miles away. In that case, we will charge an extra travel fee of 20 dollars for every ten extra miles. We have a premade setlist of the most popular songs from the past six decades, but can learn up to two song requests as long as we have two weeks before the gig to do so. Each song request will cost an extra $50. We have the right to refuse any song requested, and we do not perform explicit songs. We are not obligated to take song requests at the event, but we can if we know the songs. You do not have to hire us both if you don't need a singer, however, the price is the same per hour whether you hire both of us or only Kierstyn. Kierstyn plays both piano and guitar, but only does piano sets instrumental. She can do an instrumental piano set up to three hours. We will take a non-refundable deposit of half the money upon booking. The other half can be paid after the gig. We will accept one rescheduling attempt of the event, provided we can make the rescheduled time. If we can't, we will keep the deposit but not charge you the remaining amount. If the event is rescheduled more than once, we treat it as a cancellation. If the event is cancelled, we will keep the deposit but not charge the remaining amount. Please have in mind the amount of time you'd like to book us for when we first put you on the calendar. If you change it later, we will charge you for whichever amount of time is the longest. (So, if you change from two hours to one hour after booking, we will keep the deposit and charge for two hours. If you change from two hours to three hours, we will charge for three hours.) These guidelines are in place to guard against rapid fluctuations in our income. We accept check, cash, Venmo, Zelle, and a credit or debit card through Stripe. If you do pay through Stripe, you will be subject to an additional 3% Stripe processing fee. We do not accept PayPal or CashApp.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will drive to your location, take 15-30 minutes to set up, and begin playing. We will not charge you for the time it takes to set up or tear down. Feel free to send us specific songs that you'd like to hear us perform at the gig! We do have a basic setlist that we pick and choose from for every gig, but can learn up to two songs specifically requested from you as well as long as we have at least two weeks advance notice. If the gig is an hour, we won’t take a break. Two hours, we take one fifteen minute break at the 55 minute mark. Three hours, we take two fifteen minute breaks, one at 55 minutes and one at an hour and 55 minutes. Breaks are included in the hourly rate. All you need to provide us with is a power outlet and an extension cord if the outlet is far away. You do not need to provide a piano or any other equipment. We would prefer to use our sound system instead of your own, but we can use your sound system if absolutely necessary as long as we can also use one of our own monitors.
