BACKGROUND: I hired Chantea for a project involving a door repair on my roof deck. She visited, assessed the work, and showed up a couple of days later with 2 men on rotating half-day shifts to get the project completed.
PROS (+): She was very tenacious and determined, and focused on the task despite all the issues she seemed to be facing. Her price was reasonable, and she took her time to work the project through to completion. Her team was very understanding of the needs of the task, and were very open towards ideas, suggestions, and my change of intent in getting some areas fixed different than planned. They knew what they were doing and were able to work well without too much guidance, assistance, supervision, prodding, or any other external motivator.
CONS (-): Her team was trying to work through some internal differences, which had a subtle impact on the focus and timescales of the project. A few details were missed (some corrected only after my pointing out during inspection), some entirely (e.g. coverings of the screws on the wood board at the bottom of the door frame were missing in 3 out of 5). The cleanup after was not thorough (e.g. paint stains left on carpet). Not all the components of the frame package bought from Home Depot were used. I understand that they are trying to grow their business, but asking for some/all of the money upfront was a bit suspicious on her part.
