Goals
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Our work at the Budo Shingikan stands out from others because within the martial arts industry there is simply no one else offering what we offer. We offer students an authentic approach to Japanese Martial Arts Training. This means it is a cultural experience as well. We have not "Americanized" the martial arts for sales or compromised what we do for sales. If you want a real genuine martial arts experience we are the right school for you. I love every part of my job! There are many vocations out there but few that offer what I get from being a martial arts instructor. I have the opportunity to affect peoples lives on a daily basis for the positive and teach them life skills they will carry on for the rest of their lives. There simply isnt a better job out there!

I have been student at the Budo Shingikan for nearly three years, and I can confidently say that you can't go wrong by sending your kids here or attending yourself (or both, as many families seems to do). Sensei D'Antonolio works incredibly hard to create a great learning environment and it shows in how quickly students pick up skills. The martial system is Bushin Ryu Aikbujutsu, which is a fully developed martial system with a strong emphasis on connection, soft power and practical application. Highly, highly recommended! Shannon Sensei is the main instructor for the kids programs, and they seem excellent as well. The kids learn discipline and respect, while at the same time building self-esteem and important self-defense skills. There are lots of adult students on the mat helping out as well. Great place for the whole family.

To anyone interested in traditional martial arts, exercise or just general self improvement I must absolutely recommend Budo Shingikan as strongly as possible. I personally was only looking for a place to try martial arts again 20 years after a short course in college. I didn't expect to find a group of people that treat you as part of their dojo family right from day 1 and sincerely care about you and your interests. They are absolutely open to all people willing to come onto the mat and learn something new; be it a few nights a month or most nights of the week, children & Adults of all ages. All are treated with an equally warm welcome and I must absolutely recommend this to anyone with an interest in learning something new.

I am extremely satisfied with Budo Shingikan and would highly recommend this school to all ages. I have been training here for just over a year and a half. It has been one of the best things I ever done. I am in the best shape of my life at the age of 47. Sensei D'Antonoli has proven over and over that he is there to help you succeed. He is not one of those untouchable teachers. He makes himself available to everyone. I would definitely recommend Budo Shingikan to anyone who wants to instill confidence, self-discipline, and the skill to protect themselves. It's a positive place where you feel at home. They offer great programs that could fit into any schedule and they are always pushing you to be at your best. It’s a great family environment as well. Their kids program teaches life skills that your child takes with them at school and home. They keep your children accountable when it comes to respecting parents and doing their homework as well as listening to their teachers. They teach all ages and make it fun. I highly recommend this martial arts studio for you and your family.

I spent six years training in two different martial arts/self-defense systems. Both systems were oriented around fighting and I spent years banging the pads, sparring in unrealistic rules based sessions and training for limited corner case scenarios. Being in my mid 40's and wanting more in the way of self-defense and less force on force combat, I began to search for something new, something that was 100% self-defense oriented and extremely effective. Well that search is over, I began training at Budo Shingikan in the art of Bushin Ryu Aikai Bujutsu in May of 2013 and have not looked back. You train in a manner that teaches you to blend with your attacker while putting them in a position of disadvantage so you can perform techniques designed to stop the attack. As you progress, you learn that all techniques provide what I would call "levels of pain inducing options" based on the resistance and determination of an attacker. This is the real deal for true self-defense, no MMA here, no ego fights, just traditional Japanese training. You will find an atmosphere of mutual respect where students of all levels help each other with technique and rank advancement criteria. Sensei D’Antonoli is an incredible leader and teacher, you will be hard pressed to find another individual who's as dedicated to not only the martial aspects of training, but the philosophical and intellectual aspects that prepare your mind as much as your body.

I cannot recommend this school enough. It has changed the way I looked at traditional martial arts as well as my perspective on life entirely. Before joining this Dojo, I had very limited experience with martial arts as a whole. However, after having trained here for 6+ months, I've not only learned about the techniques but also the way of the art in a way that I can implement them in my daily life. Classes are always interesting, staff are incredibly friendly, Darrel Sensei embodies the art he teaches along with being the best teacher I've ever had, and it's an experience you'll never forget. I'd highly recommend you give it a shot. If you do, you'll be back for plenty more.
