FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $19/hr. for one cleaner, $35/hr. for two cleaners (a savings of $3/hr.), and an additional $16/hr. for a third cleaner. I honor a !0% discount for senior citizens which brings the rates to $17.10/hr. for one cleaner, $31.50 for two cleaners (a savings of $2.70/hr.), and an additional $14.40 for a third cleaner. Any referrals an existing client brings to the business that results in four or more hours of cleaning time earns them 10% off their next scheduled clean.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always recommend the client get a deep clean done first. A deep clean takes a little longer as to get everything inside the home up to clean standards. Once a deep clean is accomplished, keeping up with the general maintenance is very easy to do themselves, or we can set up a recurring schedule to do it for them. Recurring cleans, after the deep clean, does not require as much time as all the muscle work has already been done during the deep clean and usually takes about 2-4 hrs, depending on the size of the home. I explain this process to all new clients as to give them an idea what to expect when working with us. I also give the client options of how many cleaners are needed to accomplish the job. We strive for same day completion, and hiring more than one cleaner gives them value of money saved by the hour and double the work accomplished in that time frame.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was having a tough time finding a job. I already had two clients I was cleaning for on a regular basis and decided to start advertising my services in my immediate local area. It is a skill I do well, and to be successful with anything, you must be able to do it well! Besides, house cleaning is a service that is in demand, and jobs are plentiful. So, instead of waiting for job openings while problems get worse financially, I decided to expand my list of cleaning clientele and employ myself.
