My neighbor hired American Tree Masters, and the owner, Dan Riggs, to remove a 25-30’ tall saguaro cactus from his yard. My neighbor researched the company before hire, and saw his website showing he has insurance and an A rating with the Better Business Bureau, and used this information in his decision to hire American Tree Masters and Dan Riggs the owner of the company. The crew of American Tree Masters arrived without Dan Riggs to remove the cactus and hooked a crane strap to the top of the cactus and basically cut the cactus in half to remove it. Long story short, the whole top of the cactus (about 10-12ft) and the large arms on the cactus ended up in my back yard. It caused damage to my built in BBQ and tiled top, patio heaters, patio furniture, garden arch, several artificial plants, and stained my entire patio deck black from the juice of the cactus. I have literally thousands of dollars in damage to my patio space. He advertises on everything, including his contracts, he is fully insured. After I repeatedly called and finally got him on the phone the following day, he stated he has a $5000.00 deductible on his insurance, and offered to make small payments of “a couple of hundred dollars a month” to pay for the damages. I refused to accept that offer due to his demeanor, the amount of damage, and the lack of confidence I had in him to actually make these payments. I requested his insurance information so I could file a claim with them, and to date, he has refused to provide any insurance information to me, my neighbor or my neighbor’s home owners insurance company. His company is not licensed with the ROC, not bonded, did not acquire a permit to remove the cactus, which is required in AZ, and I suspect he may not be insured based on his failure to provide any information on his insurance. I would NOT recommend using this company.

Very happy with the results. I had a quite large tree in my backyard that I wanted to have removed, but I was skeptical because of how dangerous the situation looked, and I was nervous that my house might get damaged during the process. I had no idea who to call, so I asked around with my neighbors and one of them mentioned that they had been using American tree masters for the last several years, and had always been pleased with their work. I called their office and setup an estimate time to get a price on how much it would cost to have this giant pine tree taken out, so that my house's roof wouldnt be at risk anymore from any falling branches. The owner of the company wrote me up a quote, and told me exactly how the tree was going to be removed, in very small pieces with a roping system, and that an arborist would be climbing to the very top of the tree to make sure it was cut down in small and manageable pieces. He told me that this was the safe and proper way to remove the tree, and that his crew would take all proper steps to protect anything fragile in our backyard. I also got a couple other quotes for the project from other companies, but I just didn't feel comfortable with the others. We had American Tree Masters do the work, and the project turned out great. They did a good job on the cleanup, and also ground down the huge stump with their stump grinding machine so that it was below ground level and not visible. I see why my neighbor keeps using them, because it seemed that they actually care about the quality of their work. Happy customer!

From the time my husband made the call to the time we had the tree removed was less than 2 weeks, but a fault of our own because we have a baby on the way and were trying to find the best day for them to remove our very tall Mexican Fan Palm tree from our small patio in our townhome. The project included removal, haul away, disposal, cleanup, and stump grinding to 3"-4" below ground level. They also had to bring in a large crane to perform the job properly because of the tightness of the patio, which was included in the price that we were quoted, and didn't cost us a penny extra! (the crane was also very fun to watch!) The day of the removal, we received a warm welcome from one of the three gentlemen who would work on the project. They came about 15 minutes earlier than expected, so that was great. They were very efficient. As they were removing parts of the tree, they would clean up the debris. They were done in about 3 hours; they advised it would take 3-4 hours for completion. The owner even came onsite a couple of times to oversee the project, and he mentioned that anytime they need to bring in a crane for any of their projects, his general manager or himself personnally comes to the jobsite to make sure that everything goes flawlessly. Overall, we are very satisfied and pleased with the outcome. The owner was very prompt with our inquiry and we can tell he cares about his business and the quality of employees and the work itself. We would recommend this company to anyone who would like to trim or remove their tree/s.

We used American Tree Masters to do quite a bit of tree work around our property recently, and had multiple trees in the backyard that needed very heavy trimming (they were very large Mesquite trees, and hadn't been trimmed in several years, and they were drooping down and almost touching the ground), and a very large tree in the front yard that we wanted removed (my husband said it was too close to our house and roof, and was worried about the tree causing damage to our house). One of our neighbors had recommended American Tree Masters, and said that there crew did a wonderful job on their tree project, and that they had used their company several times over the past 5 years. We called their office to schedule a time for a free estimate, and we met with Dan the owner of the company, and he prepared a written proposal, and explained everything very clearly of how the project would be performed and what to expect (I was very impressed that the actual owner of the company was the person I met with for the estimate, I figured they would send out a salesman on commission just looking to make a sale, but meeting with the actual owner of the company impressed the heck out of us!) When the day came for our project to be performed, we were very impressed to see that the crew not only showed up on time, but took great care to protect all of the small items in our yard, and also were diligent enough to put tarps over lawn ornaments to protect them from any wood chips or sawdust. The crew leader began the project by explaining to us exactly what was going to happen from start to finish, and he even explained exactly how his arborist was going to approach each tree, because he explained to us that the pruning for each different tree type is approched differntly, which I was impressed to learn about. We are so pleased with the results, their crew worked very hard in the heat and did a great job on our trees. We already gave them a great review with the Better Business Bueau and Angie's List. Definitly recommend American Tree Masters!

From the time my wife made the call to the time we had the tree removed was less than 4 days, which was wonderful for me and my wife because we have a baby on the way and were trying to find the best day for them to remove our very tall Mexican Fan Palm tree from our small patio in our townhome community. I feel very fortunate that I called this company. I called a different one first and they had not called back after 2 days. I saw American Tree Masters on the internet and was very impressed with all of their positive reviews that they have with the Better business bureau and also with Angies list. Not only did they call me the same day but the estimate was much less than I expected. The project included removal, haul away, disposal, cleanup, and stump grinding to 3"-4" below ground level of this huge palm tree that the crew estimated to be about 50ft. tall! They also had to bring in a crane because of the tightness of the patio, which was included in the total cost, which was very fun to watch! The day of the removal, we received a warm welcome from one of the three gentlemen who would work on the project. They came about 15 minutes earlier than expected, so that was great. They were very efficient, and the work was very interesting to watch them perform as they brought this giant palm tree down in very small pieces (the crew leader explained that they removed this tall tree in small manageable sections so that nothing got damaged in the process). As they were removing parts of the tree, they would clean up the debris and load everything into their big chipper truck so that a huge mess wasn't created. They were done in about 3 hours; they advised it would take 3-4 hours for completion, so we were also happy about the proper time estimate. The owner even came onsite a couple of times to oversee the project to make sure that everything went as planned. Their goal was not to leave until I was happy with the completion. I would recommend this company to anyone, as they were outstanding, not only with the tree work, but they did a super job cleaning & making our yard look fantastic. Overall, we are very satisfied and pleased with the outcome, especially considering how giant this palm tree was in our yard. The owner was very prompt with our inquiry and we can tell he cares about his business and the quality of employees and the work itself. We would recommend this company to anyone who would like to have their trees trimmed or removed!
