If you are in pain, being it physical or emotional pain. Even cigarette smokers! Direct Mindpower is right for you. I have gone through chronic back pain for years now. I have had physical therapy, taken painkillers (which I don't recommend to anyone) I have tried acupuncture, and chiropractors. Nothing worked, and I was getting frustrated. I had a friend tell me to try pranic healing, which I wasn't very familiar with. Trust me, it works. Not only does the pain go away, but the feeling of having a clear mind and a clean body is what I needed. Not only does Direct Mindpower make you feel comfortable and relaxed, they are affordable and a lot of times have FREE pranic healing clinics different days of the week. I highly recommend Direct Mindpower to everyone! Please check out Direct Mindpower!! They are amazing, and this is the one and only place I go to feel the real me again!!

Zhen Liu explained everything he thought was necessary for the first visit. I appreciated that he wanted me to understand what was behind his decisions to treat me. I have had severe neck pain after over four years of dull pain in the same area. I trust that he will be able to work me through this process

I was a weekly patient of Paul's over the course of several months, during which time he helped me tremendously with significant issues of insomnia, anxiety and enduring grief after the death of my beloved dog. Over the course of Paul's treatment using acupuncture and herbs, I was able to stop taking an anti-anxiety medication which I had been dependent upon for sleep and daily function for more than two years. In addition, I was able to release significant muscle tension through receiving Paul's Chinese cupping treatments. Paul's compassion and attentiveness are outstanding. Not only is he a skilled practitioner who clearly explains his technique and his treatment plan, he also always made me feel thoroughly taken care of as a patient and answered any questions that arose for me. Paul's clinic is a beautiful healing sanctuary; the treatment rooms are aesthetically pleasing and his massage tables are extremely comfortable. Unfortunately, I am no longer living close enough to Paul's clinic to receive treatments with him, but if I were, I would definitely be continuing as his patient.

There one thing that sets Harter Acupuncture Center apart from my past experiences with acupuncturist, that is the fact that Kristi treats you like a person instead of a patient. I originally saw Kristi for back pain, and now I have been pain-free for a long time. I then saw her for a painful gout attack and in a few sessions with some herbs, the gout was gone too. Thank you Kristi, so happy that there still are people who can make a difference.

Dr. Lloyd brings something to healing that’s severely lacking in Western medicine—compassion. Having all but given up on traditional medicine, being told I’d have no choice but to live with crippling pain despite being in my early twenties, Dr. Lloyd gave me exactly what I needed—understanding, compassion, and (above all) hope. I am forever indebted to he and his wife Kathy for not only helping me rid my body of an extremely painful illness, but also for their unlimited kindness. They never hesitate to answer a question or to go out of their way to help. Despite their modesty and humbleness, these two people are a gift. With complete sincerity, I highly recommend Dr. Lloyd to anyone who needs relief from pain or illness, but especially to those who feel there is no hope. Dr. Lloyd is extremely knowledgeable in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. He’s also incredibly grounded, intelligent, considerate, and has an excellent bedside manner. I simply can’t speak highly enough of this man! He is truly a blessing to anyone in need of healing! I have and will continue to recommend him to anyone in the area!

I first came to Dawn 7 months ago to balance out my hormones. I've been on hormone therapy and medications to balance me out and it wasn't working for me. I had horrible acne, missed periods, and constant low energy. I finally had it and decided to go a more natural approach. I quit all my hormone therapy and medications and started doing acupuncture with Dawn once a week. She got me on some Chinese herbs as well to help balance me out and what my body needed! Within 2 months I finally started my period and have been regular since! I no longer have acne and my energy levels feel amazing. She has changed my life so much. I feel more confident in myself and more at balance.

Ron reached out to me in less than 2hrs and made an exception to receive my mom outside his business hours due to my mom’s recent condition with Bell’s Palsy. It was her first experience with acupuncture and felt relief right away. Definitely will be coming back for more treatments. Works on a sliding scale. Highly recommend.

It was a wonderful experience in every way. Shannon at the desk was helpful with any questions on the paperwork. Dr Jordan was extremely informative and sat down with me and went over what to expect from the acupuncture and how it works. When I left I could already feel an improvement in he pain I have been dealing with for sometime. I shall be back for more work.

      About

Most doctors have a desire to help others. Some do not develop the proper skills. Leadership is key to success in any doctor patient relationship, the doctor must practice what they preach, and they must preach healthy balanced living as a foundation to true health. Sure, some patients just want an antibiotic to treat their sinus infection. A good doctor will diagnose and treat according to the patients desire. A great doctor will also teach the patient how to avoid the sinus infection. The best doctors will attempt to instigate a fundamental shift within patients in a direction towards compassionate and conscious living, this is my primary objective. Planting seeds

What are the benefits of acupuncture?

There are many proven health benefits of acupuncture, whether you’re seeking short-term relief or need help with a chronic health condition. This alternative healing is likely why millions of adults nationwide get acupuncture treatments each year. Acupuncture provides pain relief, can help speed the body’s natural healing process, and has also been proved to have positive outcomes on mental health concerns such as depression. Acupuncture can also help relieve discomfort associated with chronic and terminal illnesses. For example, acupuncture has been proved to be effective in helping cancer patients manage pain, nausea and vomiting, fatigue, hot flashes, xerostomia (dry mouth), neuropathy (nervous system problems), anxiety, depression and sleep disturbances, according to Cancer.gov. Acupuncture is a safe and effective alternative to opioids and other pain medications, which not only are hard on the body but also present the risk of addiction. The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services found that people had less pain or were better able to manage pain when they received acupuncture as part of their health treatment.

      How does acupuncture work?

Acupuncture works by restoring the body’s natural healing powers. Acupuncture involves placing very thin needles into specific points on the body to influence the body’s energy flow and help the body heal itself in a natural way. In traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is linked to the belief that disease is caused by disruptions to the flow of energy (called qi in Chinese) in the body. The acupuncturist places whisper-thin needles into the arms, back, neck and other areas where the chi (or energy flow) has been blocked. The acupuncture needles stimulate points on or under the skin called acupuncture points or acupressure points, releasing this qi. These pathways — called “meridians” — become re-stimulated by the needles to bring blood and healing to the body. In Western medicine, acupuncture has been proved to relieve pain and help provide healing and relief from painful symptoms associated with everything from headaches to asthma to cancer. Western medicine sees the use of the needles as a way to stimulate the body’s nervous system, thereby prompting healing.

Is it safe to use acupuncture?

The general consensus from doctors, researchers and government health organizations is that yes, it is safe to have acupuncture. As with all things, there can be some risks associated with acupuncture, but with proper attention to a few key details, your health should be in good hands when you receive treatments.

The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (a branch of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services) states that “relatively few complications from using acupuncture have been reported. Still, complications have resulted from use of non-sterile needles and improper delivery of treatments.” Thus, the health risks associated with acupuncture are generally a result of human error (non-sterile needles and improper placement) as opposed to how acupuncture works in your body. Research your acupuncture provider to make sure they meet state regulations, and inquire about the use of FDA-regulated acupuncture needles. These are classified as medical devices for use by licensed practitioners, and the NCCIH states they are required to be manufactured and labeled according to certain standards (sterile, nontoxic, and labeled for single use only).

      What is an acupuncture treatment?

An acupuncture treatment is a type of integrative health care session that uses needles (and sometimes heat and/or electrical stimulation) to stimulate the body’s nervous system to begin a healing process. Long practiced in traditional Chinese medicine and other Eastern cultures, acupuncture has gained widespread acceptance and use as a complementary and integrative part of healing in Western medicine. During an acupuncture treatment, the patient lies in a relaxed position on a table that is very similar to a massage table. The acupuncturist, having done a diagnosis of health concerns and determined a course of treatment, will insert thin stainless steel needles into the prescribed acupuncture points. These points are determined by the patient’s health needs. The practitioner may gently manipulate the needles to trigger a healing response in the body. Typically there is no pain associated with the treatment. A session may use anywhere from 6-30 needles or more, depending on what illness is being treated. The needles can remain in place for 5-30 minutes, with 15 minutes being a common time. Acupuncture treatments are often prescribed in a series, based on patient need.
