Very thorough, patient, and reliable training ! Plenty of demonstrating with your dog and then when you are trying it yourself, very detailed coaching as to just what you should be doing. The trainer exhibited vast knowledge regarding dogs and your animal specifically. I really appreciated all the suggestions which went beyond the lesson of the day. I felt Tom really loves dogs and wants the best for them; the concern for their well being was evident. I certainly felt I got excellent value for this training . Cecilia

We have two dogs both King Charles Cavaliers, ages 3.5 and 5 years old. Nate has assisted us with answering questions about the pups to behavior training for the dogs. We needed guidance with house breaking, social boundaries with people and dogs as well as some work with their OCD of shadows. Nate provided us with simple strategies to use everyday that are easy for all family members to use and being consistent with these recommendations has given us more control over their day to day behaviors. Learning how to walk the dogs seems simple enough but there were lots of things we needed to know to make the walks more enjoyable for all. Nate has also provided boarding for us at times and because one of the pups has a neurological disorder, she needs medications and special care. It's a God send to have such an experienced, caring knowledgeable caregiver for us when we travel out of town or out of the country. My dogs return to us well behaved, happy and not stressed which tends happen when boarding with a boarding facility. Finally, Nate is very accessible and quick to respond. From meeting at the park to work with the dogs as well as coming to our home to address specific behaviors, the issues are quickly resolved. We've been using Nate for a couple years and will continue to refer him to our friends as well as utilize his expertise with our pets!

Diane did a perfect job for us. She stayed at our place for three nights and stayed with our pets. She came days earlier to meet the animals and they loved her so I knew it was a good match. She was easy to communicate with and sent me update texts messages throughout my time away as I had requested. I would recommend her for any job. Thank you Diane for doing such a great job for us. We will definitely use you to help us again.

We have 2 dogs and a cat who needed care while we were out of town for a wedding. Our cat needs two medications, twice daily once being an insulin shot and the other being an oral medication. After speaking with Rachael we chose AZ Mama Bear Pet Care because they have experience with administering those types of medications. They did a great job. The pets seemed happy and well taken care of. We even got photos sent to us while we were away. We will definitely call them again if we need a pet sitter.

My husband and I found out late that we needed a petsitter for the Christmas weekend. Leslie found me on Thumbtack, met with me the next day and started petsitting the day after that. I came home to happy animals and a clean house. I feel very lucky to have found a petsitter like Leslie on such short notice, and my dogs and cat were lucky to have such an animal person to take care of them. Thank you!

Leslie groomed both my springer spaniels today. They look amazing. It is the best grooming they have ever received and they are 12 years old. Leslie is an outstanding groomer, she is super sweet and she has an excellent way with animals. I could not recommend anyone as high as her and I am a very picky person. Thanks Leslie!

Malinda's day care facilities have made all the difference in the world in turning our now 1 year old Beagle "Gabby" into a social butterfly. She loves playing and spending time with her 4 legged friends there. It has also worked out very well boarding Gabby at Malinda's because she associates going there with fun. And who wouldn't like the spacious private suites? We have a new found freedom because of Malinda's and really appreciate the TLC provided by the staff there. We would recommend them to anyone who loves their animals as their kids!

You can always tell true love for animals and the desire to make someone happy by letting them know how pets of the world mean as much as humans do. I’m a pet lover of all animals and love seeing others reaching out to let the animals in the world know WE love them and fight so they can be loved just as much as we get loved.

When I lived in Phoenix, I without fail used TLC to care for my cats while I was on vacation. In one instance, when I was seriously ill and in the hospital, Margie and staff came to my apartment and cared for my cats for 9 days on the spur of the moment. The staff is clean, experienced, courteous and Margie only hires caring animal lovers as staff. I would not hesitate to recommend TLC While You're Away to anyone in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.

I am very greatful that I have found Premium Pet Care. They walk my golden retriever every day I am at work and I feel so much better that I know my dog is not alone the 8 to 10 hours a day I am away. The staff at Premium Pet Care takes great care of Chaser and they always let me know of any changes or concerns in my dogs health. Also, I travel frequently and use to take my dog to Pet Smart Hotel which I never really was comfortable with especially after the last time when Chaser (my dog) came back with a bad cough that required medical attention. Now I have Premium Pet Care stay overnight with my dog and cats at my house which is great for me since I know my animals love Bri and her staff and I do not have to worry about them when I am going for days. Thanks Premium Pet Care!!!

I went to take a tour of the school prior to having my training and I was very happy with how the staff treated me. Very friendly and helpful. Answered all my questions and was completely honest. And I think hats very important when it comes to working with animals. The facility was organized and clean. Which is awesome for me since I will also be boarding my pups there in the near future! I can't wait to start my training!! Thank you!

Yes, Mark is my brother. :) He has always been wonderful with animals. He treats dogs with patience and kindness, yet he is firm when he needs to be. He works well with both my 16 yr old Lab and 6 yr old Golden. He is also very reliable and trustworthy. He will do a great job with your precious pup. I highly recommend him.

      About

I love animals. I work as a fast food crew member at the moment but would love to quit and work full-time around animals. I thought that I would give the dog walking a try since I love to walk, be outside and be around animals. I had dogs and cats my whole life, and I think that they're awesome.

      About

We offer complete professional grooming for all breeds of dogs and cats at our clinic. Certain breeds especially those with long hair that mats easily may need assistance keeping themselves clean. Animals that are older or have physical disabilities may also benefit from our grooming services. If your pet is having trouble taking care of regular grooming, it can be a sign of an underlying health issue. Be sure to mention this when you schedule an appointment. You can also call us anytime to discuss your concerns. During your pets' grooming session, he or she will receive a bath in specially formulated shampoo tailored to his or her individual needs as well as a haircut of your choice, a nail trim, and ear cleaning. We will also check and clean your pet's eyes, paws, and pads. We know how to keep your pet calm and comfortable during grooming, so if a bath or nail trim is normally stressful, you can let us take care of those responsibilities so you and your pet can relax. Besides just making your pet look and smell good, grooming provides health benefits. Regular brushing helps remove dead hair, mats, and dirt and distributes natural oils throughout the fur, keeping the coat clean and healthy. Trimming hair around the face, ears, paw pads, and other areas can help prevent infections and irritation and keep debris from accumulating. Trimming nails can prevent joint pain, stiffness, and chiropractic problems. In addition to providing grooming services, we can teach you techniques to help keep your pet well-groomed. Feel free to ask for a product recommendation or browse our pet-safe shampoos, conditioners, and other grooming products in our reception area.

      About

When people first get meet me I often get told "I have never met anyone like you before". This is because at first glance I appear as your average 19 year old boy. The more you spend real face-to-face time with me, almost everyone picks up on a very genuine, real vibe. For this reason I am not as social with my peers. It is hard to find legitimate, good-hearted people in this world. I have found my surrounding student body is typically caught up in their own lives, out for themselves, and/or don't see the big picture in life. I don't waste my time with them, instead I practice patience in finding people willing to put the same into relationships for the same good reasons as I. So, I have maybe a handful of actual friends, I have my family, and a lot of free time to spend caring for the sweet innocent souls of our beloved pets. You will have trouble finding someone with my loyalty and genuine heart.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does boarding a horse cost?

Finding the right horse boarding location is a big step in a horse owner’s life. This will be the place your horse will live and where you will visit multiple times per week or even daily. The cost of horse boarding will depend on the level of service you desire, the location of the stables, and the luxury level of the property. Here are some examples of average horse boarding costs:

      • Overnight stabling: $30 per horse per night.
      • Partial boarding (owner feeds and mucks): $220 per horse per month, with a three-month commitment.
        • Administration of oral medication: $10 per dose.
        • Bandaging: $20 per event, plus cost of materials.
        • Trailering to vet if owner is unable: $25, plus $25 per hour to wait with horse.
      • Basic full boarding: $325-$350 per month per horse. Includes twice daily hay and daily stall cleaning.
        • Horse training: $20 per session.
        • Pasture turn out: $20 per session.
        • Blanketing: $1 per day/$30 per month.
        • Vet or farrier hold: $20. This means haltering the horse and standing with it as it receives treatment or shoeing.

Where can I board my horse?

You can board your horse at any barn or stable that provides horse boarding services. To find horse boarding near you, read reviews of area locations and speak with equestrian friends to find one with a solid reputation. Ideally, the location will be within a reasonable drive from your home or office. This is especially important if you are paying for partial boarding services and are responsible for feeding your horse and cleaning its stall each day. You may choose your boarding barn or stables based on the services they provide. Some offer more extensive amenities — at an added price — that reduce the amount of work you need to do to keep your horse comfortable. Consider whether you want training, blanketing, exercise and other perks in addition to standard offerings like hay and stable mucking. Your stable may have temperament requirements and proof that your horse has the proper vaccinations required by your state. This protects both your horse and the other horses in the stable. Many states require that locations offering horse boarding services have stable licenses that are renewed each year. Always be sure to enter into a clearly written boarding contract that will cover your horse and belongings in case of accident, and remember our tips for smart hiring.

      What is horse boarding?

Horse boarding is like rental housing for your horse. Horse boarding is helpful for people who don’t have the space or the resources to install and maintain a stable on their property. A horse can be housed in a barn with other horses and receive the care they need. Owners can visit their horse for riding, grooming, training, etc. Horse boarding services may vary based on the company and the price. Some horse boarders may offer short-term boarding of 24 hours to several nights for people passing through an area, while most offer boarding by the month for horses whose owners live in the area. There is partial- and full-service boarding, which indicates how much of the work of feeding the horse and cleaning the stall is the responsibility of the owner rather than the boarding barn. For an added fee, horse boarding can also include grooming services, riding and training, medication administration, and more.

To find the right boarding fit for you and your horse, make a list of your top priorities. These might include immediate access to riding trails, round-the-clock supervision, or a nearby or affiliated veterinarian. Always visit the site to learn exactly where your horse will be kept and whether the barn and grounds are in good condition. Read reviews, and always practice smart hiring. It’s also critical to sign the proper legal documents that protect both you and your horse, such as boarding agreements. Above all, make sure it seems like a place your horse will be comfortable between your visits.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
