FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is based on your event details (date/time, location, total hours, and what you need). For most events I offer simple flat-rates so you know the total upfront—no surprises. Travel: I’m based in the Phoenix/Tempe area. Travel is typically included. Deposit: A deposit is required to reserve your date, with the remaining balance due before or on event day. Overtime: If you want to extend the party, additional time is billed at an hourly overtime rate (confirmed in advance). Add-ons: Upgrades like extra sound coverage, additional mic needs, or special setup requirements can affect price—everything is always quoted clearly before booking. Discounts: I occasionally offer weekday / off-peak discounts (and multi-service bundles when applicable). Just ask.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Quick response + details I reply quickly and then work with you to confirm the details: date/time, venue/location, guest count, vibe, and any must-plays versus do-not-plays. Personalized quote / package options I send a clear quote and answer any questions in the Thumbtack chat. Lock the date (deposit + confirmation) Once you choose, I confirm the timeline and reserve the date with a deposit. Planning + music direction Before the event, we align on the run-of-show, key moments (entrances, announcements, special songs), and I tailor the music to your crowd. Event day execution I arrive early for setup/sound check, coordinate with the venue, and keep the energy right for your audience—professional, clean, and on time. Wrap-up + review After the event, I follow up to make sure everything landed the way you wanted and I’ll request a review on Thumbtack.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My DJ skills come from years of hands-on performance experience plus ongoing training in music programming, live mixing, and event execution. I’m trained and experienced in: Open-format mixing + crowd reading (keeping energy right for mixed-age crowds and different event types) Professional DJ software + hardware workflows (library management, cue points, clean transitions, live performance best practices) including Serato/Pioneer systems. Event flow + MC fundamentals (timelines, key moments, announcements, vendor coordination) Sound setup basics for events (speaker placement, mic use, volume management, outdoor event considerations) I also stay sharp by regularly practicing, refining playlists/sets, and learning new techniques/tools so every event feels polished and intentional.
