About
We are a professionally managed residential painting company serving Scottsdale and surrounding communities.
We specialize in interior and exterior projects where preparation, supervision, and finish quality matter. A paint job is not just about color. It is about surface condition, proper preparation, product selection, and disciplined execution.
Before any project begins, we provide a clear written scope of work and perform a thorough assessment of the surfaces. We use professional, long-term crews — not day labor — and maintain on-site supervision throughout the job. Our projects run on defined timelines and conclude with a final walkthrough before completion.
Most paint failures happen because preparation is rushed or expectations are unclear. We focus heavily on both. If a surface has limitations — such as textured stucco, prior repairs, or substrate movement — we explain what is realistically achievable and how to improve it before work starts. There are no surprises mid-project.
We are not the lowest bid. We are the company you hire when you want the project handled correctly.
If it is not something we would accept on our own property, we do not leave it that way.
Clear communication. Professional execution. Accountability from start to finish.

The whole process went very smooth from quote to completion.
The painters who actually did the work were punctual and meticulous about the work. At the end of each day they put their tools away .

Jim and his Team did an excellent job painting my home! Two story 4300 Sq. Ft. Base color and trim color. His price was one of the lowest I obtained from 4 different painters. The job was started and completed in a very timely manner. Prep and clean up was excellent. And Jim was great to work with. I highly recommend Studio Prime Painting.

3 stars and here’s why. After I accepted Prime Painting’s bid, the communication seemed to stop. I sent several emails with no response. In one email I asked if Jim (Owner) had received my deposit and I did not receive a response back. On the second day of work, I had many questions but no one on site spoke English. I texted Jim and he sent his lead team member (Felipe) over to the house who did speak English. Felip asked if a particular section of the house that had been painted was acceptable. I said no. (see attached 2 pictures). I texted Jim that this was not acceptable. He called and that’s went all hell broke loose. Jim looked at the pictures and stated it was acceptable because of the synthetic stucco on my house. (I’ll let you decide if the pictures are acceptable) Jim told me, not once, not twice but three times I cannot expect a flawless paint job. I said stop saying that, because I have never used that word. As the argument got heated on both sides, I told Jim that we needed to stop the project until we agreed what was acceptable. Jim stated you cannot stop the project and emphatically stated “read your contract”. I said fine, I’ll have my attorney read it. When talking to my wife, Jim said litigation was not necessary. My wife told him no one said anything about litigation. In the end, Jim agreed to send over a specialist from Dunn Edwards to review the problem areas with the paint job. Between the Dunn Edwards representative and Felipe, they figured out how to eliminate the visible line created by filling the cracks. After several other areas as previously discussed were corrected, the job was completed to my satisfaction, and the house looks great. Jim made this project unnecessarily stressful, and I just did not feel good after it was completed. I would suggest, if you select this vendor, put in writing, with pictures, what is acceptable and what is not. Put in writing specifics that you have asked for in the bid, otherwise you will need to argue about the agreement and like me, he will tell you to read the contract.

Prime Painting & Construction's reply
Dennis, thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. While I’m glad we were ultimately able to complete the project to your satisfaction and that your home now looks great, I’m truly sorry that the process felt stressful at times. Clear communication is important to us, and it’s disappointing to hear that we fell short of your expectations early on.
Once you brought your concerns to my attention, our team—including the Dunn-Edwards specialist and Felipe—worked closely with you to review the areas in question and make the corrections needed to achieve the final result you were happy with. I appreciate your willingness to collaborate with us through that process.
We continuously use feedback like yours to strengthen our communication systems and ensure that expectations are aligned from the start—including outlining what is and isn’t achievable on certain stucco surfaces.
Thank you again for choosing us to paint your home. We’re glad the final outcome met your standards, and we wish you all the best.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We price projects based on scope, prep requirements, materials, and the level of finish you want.
- We are not the cheapest option — and that’s intentional.
- We don’t cut prep.
- We don’t use low-grade materials.
- We don’t rush jobs to stack volume.
What you’re paying for:
- Detailed prep and protection
- Professional crews (not day labor)
- Clear timelines
- Clean job sites
- Communication you don’t have to chase
We provide written estimates with no hidden fees. If you’re comparing bids, make sure you’re comparing prep scope and materials — that’s where shortcuts usually hide.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We keep it structured and simple:
1. Initial conversation – Understand goals, timeline, and expectations.
2. On-site walk-through – Assess surfaces, prep needs, and potential issues.
3. Detailed written estimate – Clear scope, materials, timeline.
4. Scheduling & prep plan – Protect floors, furniture, landscaping, etc.
5. Execution – Professional crews, daily cleanup, clear communication.
6. Final walkthrough – We review everything together before closing out.
Our goal is zero surprises.
Most painting issues come from poor prep and poor communication. We eliminate both.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We operate like a professional company — not a side crew.
- Weekly safety and skill meetings
- Ongoing product training
- Industry publication subscriptions
- Quarterly education events with industry experts
- Clear advancement paths for team members
I started painting in college at UC San Diego and earned a degree in Urban Planning. I’ve been running painting and renovation companies ever since.
Continuous training keeps quality high and turnover low — which means you get experienced crews, not random subcontractors.
