We are fairly new on Thumbtack, but we are confident our reputation will follow over to Thumbtack in no time! You will receive the top notch service all our previous customers enjoy. Our reputation is extremely important to us! Canyon State Roofing has been the most trusted Roofing Contractor in Arizona since 1996. We are family owned and operated. Owner Jim McLain personally oversees our crews on every roof we install and repair, so you will receive the service only a business owner can deliver. At 18, he joined Marine Corp and served six years as a heavy equipment operator and was educated in heavy highway construction and demolition techniques. He supervised road projects all over the world. Jim was the recipient of two Navy Achievement metals for performance above and beyond the call of duty during his service. After the Marine Corp, he served a short apprenticeship working with a local heavy highway construction company. In 1983 went to work for a large Arizona roofing contractor training to install all types of roofing systems. He worked his way up to become a supervisor and successfully ran both large and small roofing/ retrofit projects all over the country. After leaving that company he went back to school and received advanced training in construction safety. Jim ran a safety consulting service serving medium sized construction companies, providing safety inspections and performing 10 hour OSHA training certifications. He then went on to purchase a new roofing company, and has run all operations of what is now known as Canyon State Roofing & Consulting since 2001. Roofing

The work was great. I haven't had any leaks since they finished the job. Though it was a small job, Jim McClain shows to be a caring person who makes sure the work is done right and the customer is taken care of. I would call them again.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our pricing varies per roofing project. Some of the factors of pricing include surface area, materials, and labor.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Most customers want to know that the contractor they are choosing is a responsible contractor. I explain all of the different organizations we are actively involved in (ARCA, TRI, the ROC, as well as various safety training organizations) and how the owner of our company has been roofing in AZ for more than 30 years, and we have an A+ rating with the BBB and a flawless ROC record. Most of our crews have been working for us for 5, 10, or even more years. Our crews are trained in proper roofing techniques, and we repsect and treat them well, so they stay with our company year after year.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Continuing Education is HUGE in our company. Our crews are required to complete OSHA 10 hour training, fall protection, as well as weekly safety meetings. We also are Tile Roofing Institute Certified, and Duro-Last Certified. As active members of ARCA, our staff also frequently takes specialized classes in roofing. For example, just last week, Jim McLain took a roof restoration class, and Robyn Charland took a class in the latest updates in Workman’s Compensation laws. We are also actively involved in the Better Business Bureau and a handful of property management organizations.
