Thanks for checking out my profile! I began tutoring full-time in 2019 after graduating from Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL). As a 27 year old with over 5 years of experience tutoring, I can relate to my students on a personal basis and explain material in a way that is practical and simple to follow. I teach many different subjects, including all levels of Spanish, all levels of math through calculus, and SAT / ACT prep. My favorite subject to teach is Spanish, because I began learning it in high school and became fully fluent after living for a year in Madrid, Spain! I like to tell my students this because it shows how school can lead to exciting paths in the future. I look forward to working with your student to help achieve them their full potential!

Jake has been a great help to my high school freshman with his geometry class. Despite going to his teacher for assistance, he was still having a hard time with a few concepts. Enter Jake. My son said Jake is relatable, patient, and very helpful. They’ve worked through individual concepts as well as reviewing past quizzes and tests to help identify gaps in his knowledge. Jake is great at explaining difficult comcepts. My son’s scores have increased, but even better is the fact that he is regaining his confidence in his ability to learn and apply the math skills. Jake is very professional and easy to work with. He has been flexible with scheduling and is very punctual. My son seems eager for his sessions and goes into the lessons having identified specific questions—he knows Jake will be able to help him. I’d truly recommend Jake to any of my friends. 5 star rating from us!

If you are in search of a great tutor, then look no further. Everything you look for in a quality tutor can be found in Jake. He is professional, accommodating, charismatic, compassionate, funny, punctual, knowledgeable, patient, and much more. I have struggled with math since I was a child due to ADHD, and it has continued well into my twenties. I have had countless teachers and instructors attempt to help me conquer math but to no avail. That was until I met Jake. Before Jake was my instructor, I was lucky to complete basic multiplication and division, but within a few short weeks I was doing linear algebra with his guidance. Not only was he the first one to show me how to solve these problems, but he would provide helpful tools and techniques for different scenarios. If at any time I struggled, he would lift me up and help me approach the problem from different angle(s) until I finally understood the material. He has such insightful lessons while simultaneously staying lighthearted. His intuition and empathy are highlighted throughout his sessions as he knows just the right thing to say at just the right time. It is awe-inspiring how genuine Jake is and his desire to help others with their success is remarkable. He is willing to do whatever it takes to defeat any challenge that is thrown someone’s way. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $60 per hour and accept payment either in advance or the day of the scheduled session.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually schedule a phone or Zoom call with new customers prior to our first session. This allows me to get to know the client on a personal basis and to understand their specific goals and needs in tutoring. From there, we schedule our first session, which will be planned based on the subject matter and student’s goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) in May of 2019 as a business major and a Spanish minor. In high school, I took as many AP and Honors classes as possible. My academic background gives me the experience and skills necessary to help students excel at all different levels of learning. The combination of my Spanish minor and year spent living in Spain allows me to teach both written and conversational Spanish.
