FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard pricing is $80/hr. However, I am always willing to work out a flat rate system. I factor in client changes and estimated hours. Frequently, clients prefer the flat rate system because they are able to budget for it better. However, currently, most of my clients are using the hourly system.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Generally, I speak with the customer to get a scope of the project. At that point, I offer an estimate of time, propose a schedule, and discuss options for payment. I usually prefer an hourly rate, but am happy to work out a flat rate, if that works better for the customer. If the customer is happy with the timeframe, schedule and payment options, I begin the project. By this time, I already know from the client what resources they have to provide, so I could begin generating the additional resources needed... body copy, photos, illustrations, etc. And then we're off to the races. Also, I am always happy to get references from any of my past or present clients when requested.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All throughout my traditional education, I would supplement with additional training outside. For example, when I was in high school, I would take college art courses outside of school to further my training. I ultimately finished up four years of college with a BA in Fine Arts with a design/illustration focus. I began working as a designer/illustrator professionally as a sophomore in college. Currently, I continue to reference online tutorials to keep up on the latest methods and software.
