Hired on Thumbtack

Jennifer B was 30 minutes late. She quoted me $65, but charged $130. When I arrived home, I was in tears because she stained my furniture and streaked my wood floors with some waxy substance that I still cannot remove. There were dust bunnies under all of my furniture, and she didn't dust any tables. I cannot figure out - other than dishes - what she DID do. I have contacted her to request half a refund, but she refuses to answer. I haven't experienced hiring a cleaning that actually produced MORE cleaning for me. This was a terrible experience and I'd like to warn others NOT to hire this woman. I have photographic evidence of everything. Be happy to post them for all to see. Just bad business. I'm still sick to my stomach about paying her for that service. Ugh. To have a time machine. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS WOMAN! Anyone can feel free to contact me and see the photos - and remember they are AFTER photos.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We have a standard service call fee of $69. 99, and after that for each job we have a flat rate pricing book. So that once the problem is diagnosed we will be able to show our customers exactly what it is going to cost up front before any work is done. That way our customers can relax while the work is being completed, cause they know the ammount the job is going to cost before any of the work is ever done.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

As a owner/operator of my company I attended a college for HVAC and got my associates degree in design engineering principles of heating and air conditioning. I also over the years have gotten numerous certifications including my Carrier Factory certification, Trane Factory certification, and my Nate certification in gas furnaces. I also have my Plumbing license and electrical license.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have been in the residential and Commercial remodeling business my entire life. My dad was a general contractor while I was growing up and put me on my first job site when I was about five years old. By the time I was fourteen I was running my own crews and had my own job sites to maintain. When I graduated from high school I was on a job site one day and was wondering what I did not know how to do, I had already gotten my Plumbing license and my electrical license. Then it came to me that I had no clue about heating and air conditioning. So at that time I move to Phoenix Arizona and went to the number one Refrigeration School in the nation. There I got my associate's degree in design engineering principles of heating and air conditioning. I then move back to Kentucky and started my own business as a branch off from my dad's Contracting Company. As my own company I offer all General Contracting Services specializing in heating and air conditioning, electrical and plumbing.
