Introduction: I feel I stand out as a personal trainer for 3 main reasons: 1. I focus much more on the aspects that are deeper than physical and apply that to help my clients get results; 2. I don't do cookie cutter workouts or eating plans. Every woman has a different body, different goals, and a different starting point. There is no "workout of the day" or meal plan. We start from where you are and improve from there. 3. I don't bother with contracts or commitments. Clients are welcome to pay per session, week, month, whatever works for them and their budget. If every time you visit me it doesn't convince you it is worth it to come back I haven't really done my job and you shouldn't be stuck at my gym by default. The thing I love most about my job is the day a woman walks into the gym and tells me about something she just did for the first time in a long time or the first time ever: I wore a belt; I ran 4 miles; I bought a size 6; I woke up pain free. And it's rarely the reason she started training in the first place.

I trained with Carolyn for over a month when I used to live in Tempe. She is great with the kind of exercise she makes you do, depending on your body type. She gave me some great tips on eating right. She does Yoga and I do Yoga a lot. I improved some of my Yoga poses while training with her. She is very passionate about fitness and gives her best while training you. I enjoyed training with her.

Carolyn is the BEST! If you are even thinking about a trainer - hire her immediately. I started working out with Carolyn in May 2016. I was in the worst shape of my life and, while I refused to weigh myself, some of the size 14 clothes that I bought at the beginning of the year (when I no longer fit into the 12s) were starting to feel snug and I was out of breath when I walked up the one short flight of stairs between floors at my office. I began working out with Carolyn 2-3 times per week and walking my dog in the morning. I also kept a food journal for about 6-8 weeks that Carolyn reviewed to give me ideas of where I could cut back without sacrificing my happiness (or my wine). After seven months, I've lost 2/3 dress sizes (I am solidly into a small size 10 now and very close to an 8) and over 30-35 pounds and counting! But, after all this time, I was inspired to write a review today when I (without even thinking) JOGGED up the stairs in my office and wasn't even out of breath at the top! Wow! What I love about Carolyn is that she helps you work your fitness goals into your life (whatever that may entail) and is friendly and approachable. (This is not the trainer that will make you feel weird about eating a cupcake...or two...). Also (and this is shocking even to me), I actually look forward to going to the gym. I didn't realize how greatly a personalized workout factored into my consistency. Now, when I'm a little tired, I still show up to the gym because I know that Carolyn will personalize my workout to my energy level that day. She also makes scheduling and payments super easy! Can't say enough good things about Carolyn!

Carolyn is approachable, responsive, focused, encouraging and sensitive to each client's needs. I am continuously amazed at her ability to manage her clients' unique work out programs simultaneously while tailoring to each woman's needs (which are vast and include complex injuries). Look no further for a low-pressure, high quality personal trainer.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

    I wish people that watch The Biggest Loser would know all personal trainers are not, nor should they be, like Jillian Michaels. If you cry or vomit from the intensity of the workout I did not do my job well. I also wish that people who work out at commercial gyms would know that many of us are far more qualified and compassionate than the average muscle head trainer you see in the gym.
