I am constantly learning and teaching so I am exposed to new techniques and education everyday. Continuing education is very important because new techniques and innovations are always coming out.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My work picked me. I started modeling for a friends clothing line and having sensitive skin I ended up wanting to learn more and more about makeup. When I would see I photo and see that the makeup did not look right I wanted to know why. So I researched it and continued to research until I knew why certain ingredients in makeup did not work on camera. I learned what to look for in cosmetics in order to create the best looks both on and off camera. Then I went to Cosmetology school on and learned about hair and hairstyling for on and off camera. Then moved on to airbrushing both for beauty makeup application and for body painting. Later I expanded my knowledge into creating hair pieces for photo shoots. I ended up working on ad campaigns, for celebrities, magazines, and the everyday woman, for business head shots, music videos, brides and I am expanding my knowledge every day. This profession picked me and continued to keep my interest year after year. I have passion and enjoy what I do.
