FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am most usually priced slightly lower than most professionals in my category. I believe in giving the best value and the most benefit for my customers. I am never trying to take advantage of my students or customers. I’m very fair when I price out either jobs, or lessons.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If they are looking for a teacher, I first find out what they want to learn, because that is very important. I then have discussions about what I prescribe their course if study to be, and their thoughts and feelings of how that relates to their expectations. If I am working with someone who is commissioning artwork, I get to know their tastes, sensibilities, and concepts before I do any speculative work. I then submit samples at no charge, to make sure we are of the same mind, before I begin work on their project. I either check in with them in person, or, via photos, at intervals during the process of creating their artwork, to ensure they continue to be satisfied with the progress. I always guarantee my work. They must love it before I consider it finished.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A BFA, an MFA, in Fine Art, and subsequent study at The Art Students League of New York, where I spent six years studying classical figure drawing, classical oil painting, and then, changed to Modern Art. I have a lifetime of experience, and a lifetime of travel and study of Art in hundreds of Museums around the world, as well as hundreds of Plein Air paintings in locations throughout Europe and the United States.
