FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I specialize in custom website design and development and I have a lot of experience. My rates are not among the cheapest in town, but I provide an exceptionally high value and a solid return on investment. I always work with a contract that establishes exactly what we're doing and how much it will cost, and includes a fee schedule based on milestones completed. This gives my clients time to pay a portion of the cost of the project at a time, safely and while seeing each phase of the project through to completion. The contract establishes the whole cost and scope of the project so everything is agreed upon up front.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step in the process is for a new prospective client to complete my website worksheet, an online form that helps me gather detailed information about the project. Once this is complete, I write up a proposal, then meet with the client either in person or virtually. If the project seems like a good fit, we sign a contract, then I begin work. A custom website project is done in three phases: a graphic design phase, during which I work with my client to complete a custom design for the site, a development phase during which I build the website, and a final testing and live launch phase.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My formal training, a BA with journalism and Spanish majors and a fine art minor, contributes to my skill set as a website and graphic designer, as do the four years I spent as a staff writer for the Arizona Capitol Times in the early 1990s. However, most of my education comes from running a full-service website design agency for more than 20 years, keeping up with new techniques as the industry has evolved, and teaching a variety of related subjects for several years at the University of Arizona's Outreach College.
