I've been measuring homes and creating As-Built drawings for Homeowners, Architect and Designers for more than 20 years.
It's a good idea to have plans of your properties' "Existing Conditions". This is always where you should start. This gives you control of your plans and who you send them too.
I will create a Site Plan, detailed Floor Plans, Elevations, etc. These will be created in AutoCAD. In the end, you will have these files to forward to anyone you may be looking to hire.

I was referred to Dimitri at Drafting Graphics Services by an architect in Oakland. She suggested I get existing drawing created for my house.
Dimitri was very helpful and we talked about what the architect needed to get started. We scheduled a day to measure and he was on time. He was very flexible and worked with me while I worked from home. Took him about 4 hours to measure and about a week or so to get the plans.
In the end I used a different architect. The process was easier because I had detail and clear to understand plans.
