- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
45 minute lessons are $40, and 60 minute lessons are$55. I keep pricing straightforward with no hidden fees— what you see is what you pay per lesson. If you're on the fence about buying a drum kit, I can bring a reduced/portable kit to your home for lessons—there's a $10 add-on to cover wear and tear on the equipment. This is a great way to try things out during lessons before committing to a purchase, but keep in mind it is NOT a substitute for having something to practice on between lessons, and works best as a short-term option while you decide. Ongoing weekly students may be eligible for a discounted rate; feel free to ask.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start with a quick conversation to learn about your goals, experience level, and what draws you to drumming—whether that's joining a band, playing for fun, or building a specific skill. From there, I put together a lesson plan tailored to you rather than a one-size-fits-all curriculum, and adjust as we go based on what's clicking and what needs more attention. We'll check in on progress every couple lessons to make sure we're still working toward what you actually want to get out of our sessions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied orchestral percussion for three years at Florida International University, and spent 10 years in New York playing cabarets, off-Broadway shows, and several original music projects. That mix of formal training and real-world stage experience shapes how I teach—technique matters, but so does following your instincts and learning how to perform.
