FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
· Private sessions $100/hr · Group sessions $50/hr per person (2–4 students) · Free 15-minute Zoom consultation
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a free 15-minute consultation, not to sell you anything, but to actually listen. I want to know what you need English for, specifically: a promotion, a client-facing role, an exam, simple confidence. From there I build a plan around that goal rather than a generic curriculum. Grammar and structure come first, because everything else depends on it, but I layer in real material fast, workplace emails, presentations, the kind of English you'll actually use, so progress feels tied to your life and not to a textbook.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a PhD in Anthropology, with a career built on interpreting and communicating complex material across language and cultural lines, first as an archaeologist working in Ecuador, Panama, and France, later as an oral historian conducting interviews in English, Spanish, and French. I taught university courses for four years and have taught ESL, levels zero through advanced, for nearly two decades, including hands-on experience preparing students for the IELTS exam. I don't hold a formal ESOL certification, but I'd put my track record up against one.
